Description
Listed among the "Top 100 PC Games Of All Time" by PC GAMER (2012), Divine Divinity is an epic role-playing game with hack-and-slash action, offering a huge world to explore and thousands of items to investigate, trade and use.

The game chronicles the never-ending battle between valiant heroes and the destructive powers of Chaos harnessed by the Black Ring, a cult of enduring evil. You play the role of the prophesised Chosen One who under the guidance of the wizard Zandalor must unite the seven races of Rivellon so that you may become the Divine One and stop the birth of the Lord of Chaos.

Key Features

  • An RPG of Epic Proportions
Experience an adventure that will last you over 100 hours, filled with tons of non-linear quests and offering an enormous world to explore!
  • Classless Character Development
You decide what kind of character you want to be! Start out as a warrior, wizard or survivor – each with his own unique ability – then freely choose between 96 skills, regardless of your class.
  • Hack & Slash with a Twist
Fight dozens of different enemy types and obliterate them in visceral, fast-paced combat. Things getting a bit hectic for you? Then pause the game at will, and take your time to look over the battlefield - or drink that much needed health potion.
  • Interaction Galore
Discover the enormous amount of objects that can be investigated, traded, used and combined. Found some empty flasks and picked up some colourful mushrooms? Create potions! Obtained some vile-smelling poison? Daub it on your blade or arrow tips: your foes won't know what hit 'em!
  • Award-winning Soundtrack

Ultima 7 and Diablo 2 had a baby

On the surface Divine Divinity takes obvious cue from Diablo 1/2, but don't be fooled! While there are large swords-blazing combat areas, most of the gameplay consists of talking to NPCs and quest solving. The combat itself is dictated by the skill set of the character, and here is another surprise, the skill tree is completely flat, i.e. all skills are readily available for any character class if the level-cap requirement is met. So you can start of as a warrior but venture into rouge skills, than wait for that one OP high-level mage skill to become available, and dump points into it. The next thing you know - now you are a battle mage! A neat feature which also sets this game apart from Diablo-clones is the interactivity of items and game world. It doesn't reach the level of Ultima 7 but it's obvious that the devs originally aimed for that example. Every game has its' flaws and Divine Divinity is no exception. The story is full of cliches, the pacing of the main quest feels somewhat inconsistent, some combat skills are OP to a point of being game-braking, while others are either completely worthless, or have a better in every way alternative... and another thing, maybe that's just me, but this take on isometric perspective took a really long time to get used to. Interestingly, Divine Divinity has another similarity with Ultima 7 - the successors of both games (Beyond Divinity and Ultima 8) both explore the notion of the character being trapped in a demonic realm and both are considered to be far surpassed by their predecessors.

One of my favorite games

It's pretty much old school oblivion in Diablo form.. I loved every second of this game and honestly wish there was a new game+ mechanic lol... It's a great game, a little buggy but a masterpiece nonetheless. I love Diablo but there's something special about this game... It might not be for everyone but I love in depth old RPGs like this

First Fantasy RPG game i enjoyed.

I remember as a teenager i saw that game in a magazine. I didn't know much about it. I just buyed it. I tough it will be another crapy rpg game with the same scematics as Diablo or such. Well, it was but that game was the only one for about couple of years that i fully enjoyed. If you don't have this game, you should buy it. it doesn't matter if you are rather a FPS or RTS player. This game will change your opinion about good RPG games.
