Reprise your role as a supernatural assassin in Dishonored 2.
Praised by PC Gamer as “brilliant”, IGN as “amazing” and “a super sequel, declared a “masterpiece” by Eurogamer, and hailed “a must-play revenge tale among the best in its class” by Game Informer, Dishonored 2 is the follow up to Arkane Studio's first-person action blockbuster and winner of more than 100 'Game of the Year' awards, Dishonored.
Play your way in a world where mysticism and industry collide. Will you choose to play as Empress Emily Kaldwin or the royal protector, Corvo Attano? Will you make your way through the game unseen, make full use of its brutal combat system, or use a blend of both? How will you combine your character's unique set of powers, weapons and gadgets to eliminate your enemies? The story responds to your choices, leading to intriguing outcomes, as you play through each of the game's hand-crafted missions.
Story:
Dishonored 2 is set 15 years after the Lord Regent has been vanquished and the dreaded Rat Plague has passed into history. An otherworldly usurper has seized Empress Emily Kaldwin’s throne, leaving the fate of the Isles hanging in the balance. As Emily or Corvo, travel beyond the legendary streets of Dunwall to Karnaca, the once-dazzling coastal city that holds the keys to restoring Emily to power. Armed with the Mark of the Outsider and powerful new abilities, track down your enemies and take back what’s rightfully yours.
Key Features:
The Assassins
As fully voiced characters, Emily Kaldwin and Corvo Attano now bring their own perspectives and emotional responses to the world and story. Use each character’s set of powers, gadgets and uniquely-tuned weapons in creative ways as you explore the world – whether you fight your way through the city streets or sneak across the rooftops - and which enemies you decide to eliminate or spare.
Supernatural Powers
Advanced bonecharm crafting and all-new upgrade trees allow you to customize your powers in vastly different ways. Become a living shadow to silently stalk your targets, link enemies so they share a common fate, or mesmerize your foes and dominate their minds. Choose from nearly infinite combinations of violence, nonlethal combat, powers and weapons to accomplish your objectives.
Imaginative World
From the grimy, rat-infested streets of Dunwall to the lush, exotic coasts of a decaying Karnaca, immerse yourself in stylized locales created by Arkane’s premiere art and narrative teams. The world is a character in its own right, rich with story, architecture and eclectic characters. It is also punctuated by signature mission locations, such as the Dust District, ravaged by dust storms and warring factions, and a madman’s mansion made of shifting walls, deadly traps and clockwork soldiers.
The Void Engine
Dishonored 2 is beautifully brought to life with the new Void Engine, a leap forward in rendering technology, built from id Tech and highly-customized by Arkane Studios. Designed to support world-class art direction and take full advantage of the powerful hardware this generation has to offer, the Void Engine allows for significant advances to all game systems, including responsive stealth and combat Artificial Intelligence, lighting and graphical rendering, impressively dense urban environments, and story presentation.
I enjoyed Dishonored but this one is meh.
Story isn't great and the gameplay shows it's age.
They have some decent level design but there is a TON of filler. You have initial areas where you make your way to the actual mission (you will load a secondary map). And these areas just seem to be there to pad the play time.
The AI is really bad. Like it's 2000s pathfinding and that's it. They will hear you through walls and floors if you simply interact with an object like spinning a globe sometimes. Other times they will react even though you haven't done anything. Really hit and miss I found IF you don't keep a distance.
Hearing the voice actor for Corvo in this brings back Thief memories since it's the same guy. It kept reminding me how much better Thief 1 and 2 are than this.
Dishonored 2 has a weaker story than the first game + DLCs but makes up for it in better gameplay mechanics, better graphics and a higher gameplay diversity owing to the two selectable characters & the new game + mode unifying the two characters.
The level design overall is great. Especially, the mission "A crack in the slab" is absolutely brilliant. Just for that alone, I'd recommend a full playthrough of the game.
A minor inconvenience was the unoptimized nature of the game engine pushing my system to its limits, not in terms of performance but rather fan noise. This is not something I'm accustomed to and found very off-putting at times.
You liked thief? Or previous Dishonored? Well this one is just that but better. Graphic and animation looks like a movie. Also its insanely overengineered game - You can decide to play with the hud off, without magic, just using flesh and steal and it still provides more than enough of a good expiriance.
Love the whole dishonored series just cos it gives you the option of being sneaky, or full of psychopath, or anywhere in between. And this one actually has some decent story branching depending on what you do.
Overall, Dishonored 2 definitely felt like an all-around improvement over Dishonored 1. I especially enjoyed how it was more level-headed in it’s distribution of available playstyles between lethal and nonlethal. I was kinda crappy at stealth, but I still could finish the entire game non lethal and I enjoyed it, thanks to all of the new methods of taking downe enemies non-lethally even in hand to hand combat.
In addition to that, you get a choice of new powers because of the choice to play as either Corvo or Emily. I chose to play as Emily for narrative reasons.
Dishonored 2 also features improved level design, with two shining examples of one of the best levels in games I played, ever. One of those is the Clockwork Mansion, a moving, changing maze of rooms and platforms that twist and unfold into each other, with accurately represented spaces in between, that you can also explore.
The other is Stilton’s Mansion, which includes a very fun gimmick where you hop back and forth in time, each time changing the sorroundings to represent their past condition. You can even “peek” into the other timeline via a special mirrror gadget, planning ambushes on guards by hopping in and out of the literal reality to ambush them, like some kind of space-continuum demon.
Other levels are still pretty interesting, large and spacious, with various possibilities of approach, and generally keep the level of Dishonored 1, at the very least.
The story is... once again nothing to really write home about, and in fact, seems kinda a rehash of the Dishonored 1’s DLC. I mean... Delilah again? Going after Emily? I SURE THINK I DID THAT ALREADY.

Love this game. One of the greatest immersive sims and games of all time.
Compared to the first one, gameplay and graphics are better. More powers, more options, and level design is more sophisticated. Only minor downgrade is the story. It's good, just not as great. As others have already stated, kind of a rehash of the Brigmore Witches DLC.
Here's to hoping they make a third Dishonored!
