Diggles: The Myth of Fenris

I had to cut out words and such to minimize the length. Hoping to make second review with rest of Hints and Cheats This is information I found online years ago by an unknown creator. Enjoy! Digging: Main direction down. Side paths/caves should be explored. Space for new caves, or settlement, use this trick: Mark and dig only 2 fields, stops level generator from generating things in the way. Do not overdo it, you may not have space for the nice side quests and quests with a couple, Precaution have weapon, shield, healing drink, food in inventory Working Time: Give couples the same work and leisure time 6 Diggle hours of work and 6 Diggle hours of free time First pair of 6-12 work, 2nd pair of 12-6, 3rd pair of 3-9, 4th pair of 9-3 etc Create pairs with Ctrl+# to form group. Let couples work together (e.g. one couple to dig and one to cook on another shift) Due to this division you only need 1 tent at the beginning, max. 2 (in one sleep 2 Diggles and they do other things in their free time beside sleeping) Offspring: For division of working time/free time Give more free time if necessary Make sure they are together in free time, if necessary send them to the bar together Food: Production not to infinity, but only a maximum of 8 Distribute to different production sites. 3 are actually enough 1 kitchen & 2 fireplaces Do not produce different things at the same time Diggles love variety, so offer something different Build 2 farms (Mushroom, Hamster) Close to fireplace or kitchen (no shaft between) Kitchen needs energy Do not stop production (red cross) Diggles only feed themselves if have free space in their inventory

For the longest time I've been wanting to play this game but it was no where to be found, like a hidden gem only found in the deepest cave! but the problem was if you "found" it there was bugs that would hinder the experience. BUT NOW some of those bugs have been fixed and the game will most likely get refined more (hopefully). It's like a bit of dwarf fortress/rimworld with a touch of black & white.

As much as I love the gameplay and story, the game still has issues that haven't beed adressed. My main complain are the CTDs that occure before or after cutscenes. CTDs after cutscenes can be avoided by skipping those, but nothing seems to be done if it occures before. On my 1st walkthrough I had CDT before scientists clan custcene and I was able to walk it around by attacking clan which was not my intend. Right now on my 2nd walkthrough game crashes before dragon cutscene which make it impossible to proceed. There were also plenty of random CTDs during differnet cutscenes but I could proceed after realoading (save your game often!). Another issue seems to be the same as in old version. Some files are being reported as viruses by Windows Defeder (this also happened using Avira). One more thing that pisses me off is that Fairy Tree is almost never genderated in 1st world. I personally was never able to find it which sucks considering the reward for the quest is a unique wepaon. Now I hope it wasn't just a "release and forget" project and it will recive an update or two becouse I would love to play more. Right now the crashes make it unplayable for me.

While it works flawlessly on modern systems, unfortunately nobody fixed the numerous game-breaking bugs the original game was plagued with. Your diggles and items will occasionally get stuck in the terrain, behind newly built buildings, or refuse to work in some workshops for no apparent reason. God help you if it's your kitchen: always have a fireplace in built somewhere to feed your dwarfs in case that the game bugs out. That being said, despite it's age the game is fun. If you wanted to play Oxygen Not Included or Rimworld, but found them too daunting, this game is for you. One thing I love about it that most other resource management games lack is that it doesn't let you build up one place, but rather forces you to periodically move deeper and deeper into the earth.

This game is something like city builder. You've got group of dwarfs (wiggles) that you have to lead to the victory. There's a main quest. But in order to get to the final location you have to dig and dig :). You build your village in caves, tunnels. Along the way you have to invent and construct more modern buildings and gather resources. Your wiggles need to eat and sleep - they also need "free time" - to do nothing. There are some enemies along the way - you can use axes, maces etc. Your wiggles upon time gain experience, they become more skilled but also get older! They can die but chill - they can have kids :). Summary: *City builder, economy *Eat, sleep, work - have fun *Remember about expansion, inventing new buildings *Explore the tunnels *Plan work of your dwarfs *This version works perfectly with Windows 10 - no issues after few hours of play, no crashes etc. *Turbo button is your friend ("+" on keyboard) - speeds up the game Tips for others: *Do not forget about food! Produce it all the time even if you have too much already. *If your wiggles are not working - check your time sheets. Maybe you should adjust them? Bottom right corner there's a clock. *Use turbo ("+") - game can be boring if you watch someone going to a distant place *Use baskets, storage rooms - remember you can pack 1 storage room into another when going to a new "world" *Try to plan your village so all paths are most efficient, dwarfs have place to sleep and resources are nearby, don't forget about farms Good luck!
