Die By The Sword + Limb From Limb

I played the original all the way through when it came out. It was a little too hard for me then, and not one of my favorites, but good enough that my fond memories made me buy it here (after having given it away years ago). Unfortunately, on new machines, the timing is just insane -- and I'm not sure why. When it was written, the use of timing-loops (cpu speed calibrated timing, which fails when the CPU gets way faster than the designers expected) should have been completely dead. Whatever the cause, I couldn't get past the column jumping part of the tutorial this time...

I had this title when it was originally released, and it frustrated me to the point of deletion. Now, much later, and in the mood for some hack 'n' slash, I DLed it here. I took my good old time to get the hang of the controls before rushing into combat, and thought this would be much better this time. But then, when actually engaging in the game (versus the tutorial part) the camera goes wild, swinging around your character, completely discombobulating your left versus right perception, and often hiding your enemy from you. I really like the concept (obviously, I'm still trying to play this thing what, ten, twelve years on?) but it's just broken.
