Die By The Sword + Limb From Limb

This is an amazing game, which is certainly worth the asking price. Especially when playing with the mouse "VSIM-mode" enabled you can get a lot of fun out of the same encounters and arena setups. The story isn't particularly amazing, but the game doesn't really need an amazing story anyway. It's enough to let you chop the limbs off of things. At best, it is the much older viking-simulator cousin of Dark Souls. I don't think much more needs to be said.

This one I didn't find when it came out, but boy am I glad I found it recently! You would think the dismemberment of enemies is the thing that is the most fun, right? Well, it kinda is fun, but it's not that - the biggest draw is the hellishly difficult, yet extremely rewarding control of the sword-arm (or whatever weapon you happen to use, which can include the dismembered arm or leg of your opponents). I still haven't learned it fully, there is a "shortcut" by playing on the keyboard, but the real fun is in the mouse control, and it is a doozy! You will mostly flail around like a blind monkey, but eventually, you start to get better. Plus, it's not like the AI is any better, sure it can swing decently, but it seems as confused as you. But let me tell you - pulling off that sweeping decapitation of a twice-your-size Ogre that can kick you across the room usually...boy, is there anything sweeter! The janky physics just add to the flavour of the game! There is a blocking and parrying system you can practice and get good at, but it is just as fun to try swinging, jumping, and bouncing on one leg (since you lost the other one to the damn Trog). The sheer complexity and layer it all brings to a game with such crap graphics, it's just...nothing compares! No modern graphically enhanced game comes close! This would be great to have a remastered version of!
