Mod is the real Deal
Really solid improvements across the board, the QOL improvements alone make it so much better

Don’t run!
You can read my review for the main game, in the game’s page. I posted it on the same date as this one. Here I’ll mention only the differences that the mod brings: Starting a fresh game, you can play only on Normal (the other difficulties become available later). This mod functions like Diablo 2 in saving and enemy respawn. Thus, there is enemy respawn if you exit the game and re-enter, and there isn’t manual saving (as there was in the main game of Diablo 1). The game saves automatically every time you exit. There are waypoints, leading back to town, in every second floor (2, 4, 6, etc.), as wells as the exits to town (as in the main game) in floors 5, 9, and 13. As a result of enemy respawn plus no manual saving plus waypoints, to make actual progress you have to be reaching the next waypoint (or exit to town) in every session you play, so that you’ll be able to take it from there the next time you play the game. This means, of course, that you’ll have to be clearing even up to two floors of the dungeon in every session, which can be very time-consuming (2 h or more), depending on your way of playing (kill everything in the floor, or just search for the next staircase leading to the next floor). Many say that this game is more difficult than the main game. In reality, your way of playing will make it easy or difficult. Continuing from the previous paragraph, if you are killing everything in each floor, you will be earning more levels, and the game becomes MUCH easier than the Normal of the main game, believe me! On the other hand, if you are looking just for the exiting staircase in each floor then, sure, the game becomes difficult, because the player character isn’t leveled enough to handle the enemies of the next floor! So, it isn’t something with the game. It’s the way one plays it. If you invest time, it will be easier. If you run, it will be difficult! This mod (contrary to the main game) brings out all available quests to appear in one playthrough. Also, when the NPCs have a quest for you, an exclamation mark appears above their heads (so, you don’t have to go talking to each of them every time you exit the main dungeon, to see if they have something for you). If you hit Ctrl key (toggle), the items on the ground will be labeled, to not be pixel-searching them! Gold stacks in one inventory box every million gold coins, while in the main game each box could hold only up to 5000 gold coins! Apart from that, there’s also a stash in town, to store your excessive, but not unwanted, stuff in. Smoother and fairer level-ups. In the main game, after some point, you are required to gather over a million xp points to get to the next level! Statistics for your character are more detailed. So many enhancements done by the creators of the mod, but still the same (small) inventory size?!! As the only negative for me, I will say that, sadly, I didn’t manage to finish the game properly. I had read about a time restriction in the floor where the ending boss is. You have to kill him in 1h or he becomes too overpowered. However, that didn’t mind me, because I didn’t even reach there! Doomlord Gam’ar, in the Terror Domain area, is overpowered already anyway!! And I’m writing these, no matter the farming I did, as proven by the above written (by not finding the game too difficult, up to this point). I couldn’t defeat him, so I couldn’t proceed and finish the game. I will not remove a star for that, as this mod complements greatly the main game, allowing you to also see all the quests and learn all aspects of the story (which is the most important to me). However, I believe it couldn’t stand as a separate game in it’s current (Gam’ar’s gating) form.
