Beelzebub, or Diablo I HD Mod, is a complex modification for the first installment of the Diablo series, which introduces a number of interesting improvements to the gameplay, a lot of new content and - most importantly - increased resolution.



Beelzebub enriches the cult Diablo series with a real mass of intriguing content, presenting it all in HD resolution. The modification adds new locations, missions, spells, skills and monsters, 204 unique items, 170 crafting recipes, several new character classes (Warrior, Sorcerer, Rogue, Necromancer or Barbarian), 28 sets and 105 set items, four difficulty levels available in the single player mode, as well as a host of other gameplay improvements. The developer has also thought of a few additions in terms of interface, support for widescreen, and - as we have already mentioned - full integration with the new Windows systems. There is no denying that there is a lot to it, so every fan of the series, especially of the ‘one’, will undoubtedly not pass by this modification indifferently.

Diablo 1.5, bigger and better

I've been playing this mod for a few years and I must say, is quite hard going back to vanilla Diablo 1 after playing it. It's the same old classic we all know, just with "more". More sidequests, more items, more classes, more content. Item sets and magical properties and even new equipement types are backported from Diablo 2, Item management is improved thanks to a personal chest, and a shareable one among all characters in your PC. Classes now have a few unique skills without being full blown skill trees, and new spells with requisites other than Magic are also available, giving much needed variation. One of the more interesting additions is the restoration of certain sidequests and lore elements initially cut from the game, like the originally planned appearance (and fate) of Izual or the Map of Stars that force you to battle Diablo within 30 minutes, or he'll be massively buffed. If you love both Diablo 1 and 2, you should give this mod a try. Hey, it's free!

The best way to play vanilla D1.

It's the most fleshed-out vanilla D you could ask for, with lots of polish, bug squishes and restored content. (That Butcher cutscene!) If you want a remastered, faithful single-player HD upgrade to celebrate the nearly 30-year legacy of Blizzard North's classic, then look no further... Belzebub is the one. For multiplayer, you can check out Noktis's website for the latest update of the fork. It's called Tchernobog. Works really well! Good stuff. But if you're a true D1 vet' seeking the most robust and challenging mod of all, TH Team's long-running fan project The Hell will make your hairs stand on end. It's wild! (The latest finished one, III, is a free download on their Patreon page, with IV in pre-alpha.) With these mods, D1 bros be eatin' good for years to come!

Brilliant!

Only at dungeon level 3 so far, playing as necromancer, but so far a great experience. This mod takes the original Diablo and makes and closes the gap between between the original Diablo and Diablo II! Graphics and zoom out view are great. Fantastic mod!

Nice!!!

I haven't played much of this mod yet but at face value it is pretty slick! It would appear to be a huge win for Diablo 1 fans. I will say though, PLEASE add an option to turn off the floating hit/experience numbers. I hate having my screen fill up with numbers. As well, if a movement speed increase is possible for when players are in Tristram than that would be a nice addition. I'm not saying to rework the whole game to increase player speed... just that walking around the town has gotten old... esspically for those who have been playing this game since the 90's.
