Twenty years after the events depicted in the multi-award-winning Deus Ex, the world is just beginning to recover from The Collapse. As an elite agent-in-training, you must match wits against numerous militant factions bent on violently reshaping the world to suit their own agendas. Armed with a multitude of high-tech gadgets and cyberpunk bio-mods, you are granted nearly superhuman powers. Travel the globe to uncover fiendish plots and convoluted conspiracies of world domination. Unmask the conspirators, and discover the shocking truth behind your own origins.
Deus Ex: Invisible War features the open-ended gameplay of its predecessor: use multi-tools and trickery to get past your opponents, or just turn their technology against them as you hack their turrets and computer systems. Along with bio-mods and choices that let you mould your character as you desire, take advantage of the numerous ways to customize your weaponry whether it’s to increase their rate of fire or clip capacity. Last but not least, take advantage of the various factions, such as the Omar who have the only black-market bio-mods, to further your aims.
Who should you trust? Who should you fight? Every decision you make affects the world around you. A good choice for RPG and action fans alike!
RPG-ish design allowing for multiple solutions to every quest, whether through stealth and treachery or all guns blazing!
A selection of unique biomods such as the Neural Interface that allows you to hack computers or Cloak to hide from enemies, cyberpunk style.
Globe-hop to real world locations such as Seattle, London, and Cairo.

Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
Old game with no mini map, nor dinamic map that show you where you are exactly so you will depend on your orientation habilities.
No mision location markers either so will be running around a lot.
Playing from start to finish with a controller, no mods, was honestly a dream come true for me. I went in with an open mind, fully aware of the game’s age and flaws, and ended up really enjoying my time.
What I Liked
- I’ve only played Deus Ex: Human Revolution before this, and surprisingly, I liked Invisible War better.
- The level design is solid. I never got lost, and the maps felt compact and easy to navigate.
- Objectives were always clear — I knew what to do and where to go.
- Choices throughout the game actually mattered. By the end, your actions felt like they had weight.
What Didn't Work So Well
- I had to do some serious "jiu-jitsu" with controller remapping — many buttons just didn’t work out of the box.
- Brightness issues made some areas hard to see.
- Some areas dragged on longer than they needed to.
- Dropping items didn’t work properly, and I couldn’t move the mouse in the inventory. I had to temporarily switch the game out of fullscreen and use save file tricks — even reinstall the game a few times — just to manage my gear.
- The enemy AI was either funny-bad or randomly extremely challenging — not much in between, which made encounters unpredictable in a weird way.
- The game crashed or froze on loading screens occasionally, but reopening it usually brought me back to the last save. Pro tip: use lots of save slots (I had at least 7).
Final Thoughts
Despite its quirks, Invisible War gave me a memorable experience. It's rough, sure — but if you accept it for what it is, there’s still a good game underneath. I’d recommend it to open-minded players, especially those who enjoy immersive sims.
My Verdict: Worth playing if you’re patient and save often.
