Nice...

It's pretty good, the graphics look great in comparison to the original, and even by today standards, the gameplay has been improved significantly by making crypto extremely powerful. You fly a lot higher, they removed the falling damage from the original, and proceeded to streamline a lot of commands, both removing the brain stem of your enemies, as well as launching them using psychokinesis is extremely simple now, it only takes a couple of seconds to use both abilities, and they're extremely effective in disposing your enemies. The Zap-O-Matic feels similar in its damage output to the original, but the recharge rate is a lot more generous. The game also has a ton of different side objectives in each mission besides the ones that were present in the original, which seem to have been reworked (for the most part) although the lack of some of the original side content might have to do more with this being a demo, rather than an actual decision from the developers part. Now you don't only earn dna by completing side missions, or collecting probes, but you also get costumes by completing side objectives in later missions. What really struck me was how good they made the game look, little details like the posters that introduce every mission, as well as the newspapers that appear after you complete them, seem to have been remastered as well, newspapers looked more detailed, and the posters actually look like movie posters of the era. I also really like the ui changes and the fact that they added the ability to regain your saucer shields by consuming either vehicles, or beings, a feature only available in the second game. I will say that the characters in cutscenes are overly expressive, to the point of looking fairly unnatural in their behaviour, most of the mannerisms seem forced, and the design of some of the human character looked overly silly. But overall I had a great time with the game, and I'm really looking foward to its release in July.

A Faithful Remake Done Right

The demo plays exactly like the original game with improvements and that's all we needed and wanted from it. THQ Nordic did it right with a faithful remake and improved upon the faults of the original.

Excellent Demo

Such a very optimized demo for an upcoming game. Graphics are very satisfying to look at. Satisfying gameplay, unfortunely a quick gameplay experience. I can't wait for the full release for this summer

Fantastic, but meet the specs!

I was all smiles when GOG finally made Destroy All Humans available. Been waiting for this a long, long time! The graphics are great (better than the original I would say). The dry humor and Nicholson-esque delivery of Crypto 137 immediately took me back to when I played this for so many hours on a PS2 way back when. This was the height of nostalgia for me. Unfortunately, the game itself was almost unplayable on my PC.... The cut scenes play fine, but the mouse is so sluggish and inaccurate that I can't control the cursor or weapons. When you're in the saucer, the same applies, and the saucer often gets lost in the tree tops rather than flying above them. Granted, my system is a bit old and not up to the specs - I have a desktop PC with i7 2600 CPU, 16GB DDR3 RAM, an SSD, and an AMD Radeon HD 6700 graphics card. I would also agree with another reviewer that the character voices sometimes seem a bit dry or out of place in the mix. Having said that, I'll still buy the full version since I intend to upgrade my PC anyway. As long that that fixes the sloppy cursor issue, you'll get a real hoot out of this fun game if your computer meets the specs! I already own the fantastic soundtrack to this game, but I hope they'll release that as well on GOG so others can enjoy it too. There are some really fun remixes in that soundtrack.

Crypto kept his promise!

It took him ten years, but bloddy hell, here he is again! The demo is only the first level, but the animations are great. I can't remember the last time I played a game that actually had optional objectives. Good old humor as well, something we can't see today. Shoutout to Mark, who took care of it.
