Descent

I'm going to be brief about it. The controls require some getting used to. 2 enemies I can live without is one hit-can jerk that shaves 1/3rd of your health in 1,5 second and the other one with insanely precise homing missiles. In tight spaces it's just plain cheap. The game is a total jerk to you: cheap, unfair, confusing, frustrating but it's fun. It's fun goddamn it. I recommend using source ports for those without a 4:3 or 5:4 monitors. They make the game look a lot more modern and improve on in-game options but keep the gameplay the same. DX1 Rebirth is recommended.

Must say, Descent mixes fps and space battle simulator and it does that spectacularly! Fighting enemies from all the direction take a lot to be accustomed to, but it's worth it. It gives you a new perspective and when it came out, Descent was quite unique in its time and still, today can be quite enjoying and feel fresh to play too. However, the maps may be confusing and finding even the simple cards or exits can be quite frustrating sometimes, but actually the game does give you ways to finish the level. So, yes, quite intriguing and fun!

It's Descent! Do I really need to say more into??? Okay I guess I will. Descent is one of the first true 3D FPS games to release, and thanks to GoG. Anyone can relive this. However I should point out that there is the D1X-Rebirth/D2X-Rebirth or D2X-XL project which provide a more modern experience for those not as versed in DOS gaming. Regardless of which you choose. Play Descent and enjoy an awesome game!

This brings back memories, replaying this was awesome. GOG is using DosBox to run this classic and I have not had any issues with this on my modern gaming PC. Thank you GOG for bringing this title back.

I've always regretted the day I got rid of my Descent games. Being able to reacquire them via GOG.com has made me a very happy man. Not only do I get to enjoy the series all over again, but I get to do it for only $5.99! That's the deal of the century! Installation was quick and painless. Thanks GOG.com for preserving such a classic!
