Description
After the events in Deponia, Rufus came to his senses. He's grown prudent, amicable, kind and caring, without any intention to cause major mayhem just to further his own selfish ends. It seems he is far from chaining himself to flaming saw blades, training torpedo-dolphins or plundering platypus nests. Or is he? Eventually, it's a flaming saw blade that “persuades” Goal to stay on Deponia once more, splitting her personality into three parts in the process, each aspect of her consciousness stored to a different cartridge. So it's up to Rufus and his remarkable charm to persuade Goal's personalities to fuse into one again, make his way to Elysium with her and save Deponia from certain Chaos while he's at it. Join Rufus on his way through the vast area of the Floating Black Market, meet new, bizarre characters and reunite with familiar faces.

The second adventure on Deponia tells a unique, self contained story playable without further knowledge of the first installment. Challenging puzzles, elaborate dialogues and unique wacky humor ensure a truly hilarious gaming experience. Fans of the first game will discover new aspects of familiar characters' backgrounds and have many questions answered.
  • Strange and wacky devices ranging from torpedo dolphins, burning saw blades, and even anti-gravity socks.
  • Challenging puzzles coupled with hours of dialogue bristling with humor.
  • Bizarre characters--both old and new--each with their own quirks of personality.

chaos on deponia

I really enjoyed the game up until near the end when the gameplay slowed down and then crashed on me.( the fight between rufus and cletus and baby and goal) I've tried to play from a save game but the same thing happens all the time. Its put me off buying the third part when it comes out which is a pity as it was a really good game up until then.

Annoying!

Very bad and irritating voice acting of the main character. That made me completely mute the sound! And for that reason I was stuck in the game so the blind pharmacist couldn't hear me!?! I have been playing adventures for 30 years, but I have never experienced something stupid like this! I no longer have the desire to continue playing this adventure :-( Sad!

They made it better, they made it worse

This is a direct sequel to the first Deponia and all the problems plaguing the first one are still relevant here. The devs seem to have tried to address some of it, but I think with no success overall. The graphics is as great as it was, and it appears with much less glitches this time, so that's the good part. The protagonist, and frankly speaking most of the characters, are still unbearable,e xcept this time instead of banking on Rufus'es douchery they tried to emphasize his idiocity. Which makes it slightly better, but he's still insufferable. I found myself skipping dialogs on multiple occasions just because I couldn't stand it anymore. There are a some good jokes but those a few and far between. I think I laughed three or four times, which is still more than the first game. The rest of it is just as offensive, sexist, stupid and sick as it used to be. And again with the animal cruelty. The puzzles have got more variety to them, there are new purely mechanical puzzles, a good addition to the game. The game world became bigger and more open-ended too. But herein lies the problem - I think the devs failed to manage the increased scale, so the puzzles involve much more moon logic now. Some of them involve absolutely redundant steps - you can see the solution clearly, but the game logic gives you additional hoops to jump trough before you can do the thing for no apparent reason. And thanks to the openendedness sometimes you'll be solving puzzles not even knowing why, because you haven't seen the appripriate location/character yet. The music got worse. Just worse. Some of it is reused old tunes, the new scores are uninspiring and dull. Overall it's the same Deponia, but it feels worse this time. Same pleasant graphic and art, same sick "humor" (no, it's not dark or edgy or borderline, correctness aside it's just plain stupid and unfun). Music and puzzles are the parts that gave at least some appeal to the previous installment, and those got worse.

Tedious, annoying

The difference between the first and the second game reminds me of the difference between the first and the second "Simon The Sorcerer" games. Except this time the difference is way worse. Illogical puzzles, action sequences, cruelty, these are the things you have to face if you start to play this game. It's a sad disappointment compared to the first instalment.
