won't launch at all for some reason Update: a fan made patch was able to fix this but only works in windows mode.

Bought the game here, instead of on Steam, because GOG says that the game will run flawlessly on modern systems. Turns out that's a lie, the game hasn't been working for the past few months, on any updated Windows 11 systems. Game is literally unplayable, until it gets fixed 0/10.

Just like Arcania (previous Gothic 4 ) that uses the same engine, this game seems to have been designed for something greater but the devs ended not reaching 20% of what they wanted to do, is like everything was rushed and half backed, feels very unfinished. But despite this is playable and can be fun, is also a game with a somewhat mature story and themes, is also a game with very black and white choices no gradation, choices that many times feel forced. About the gameplay is somewhat similar to Arcania, thou the RPG system is a tad more developed, but in all is still a simplistic action RPG.

Good design, deeply flawed in mechanics and internal logic of story and dialog. Mechanics very simplistic (no item creation except for some alchemy). Dialog written probably by several people who were not aware of one another's work. Typical of other games of this company...
