Contrary to what GOG claims, this game won't work at all on Windows 11 at the time of this writing. I am not alone in saying so either, you can check the forums.

This is a very dark and gritty RPG, and the story is rather unconventional in that it doesn't use many popular tropes. The story and dialogue is usually very well written, but can at times seem a bit disjointed between the characters, but that is a very minor thing. The combat is rather engaging, although I didn't find the spells as amazing looking as the devs claimed. With that out of the way. Let's talk about the bad stuff. Easily the worst thing about this game is the crap auto save system, which doesn't properly save sections, so you have to redo content if you unexpecdly die, and you have to repeat unskippable cutscenes again and again. Which is annoying, cause some of the boss fights are very overtuned and rather unfair. Another annoying issue was that there were some abilities that cause my screen to flicker a lot, which at times cause me to lose fights. I tried to fix the issue, but I didn't find a quick solution, so I just ignored it. Overall I rather enjoyed this game, and I can recommend picking this up on a sale. It will net you a good 15-20 hours. If you enjoy a great story and can forgive some glaring issues like me.

I was not expecting much when I decided to stream this game for my Twitch channel. I really didn't. I just wanted to play an action RPG, relatively modern which wasn't too demanding on the hardware as I have 10+ year old laptops. I got more than I asked for. The game is basically an action RPG, reminds me of the games from Spiders, though with far far less pointless walking and visually at times similar and at times worse than their games. Of course one needs to remember this is an old game by now. There are plenty of things to spend your skill points and your magic points on, giving you the option to develop your character in multiple ways in how you deal with the threats and the exploring. You can't unlock everything. I just finished the game, yes for my same name stream channel, and I unlocked about 1/4 of the special fighting skills, 1/4 of the magic skills. They are "trees" and you don't have enough points to unlock everything. So you better specialize in weapon type and in magic type. This on its own gives you enough reason to replay the game. But wait, there is more. The story is about your character, a man or a woman who gets into a long mysterious and potentially sick story. Yet, things are both better and worse. The dialogue system reminds of 3D Fallouts, with more options available depending on skills. Also the story can develop at some points depending on your choices. The story is good, though it does forces you a couple of times with nonsensical decisions for you. The combat is competent and fun. I don't know what people complain about. Sound is very good, graphics are average to very good. Voice acting is mostly great. There is a lot of reading if you want to read all the notes/entries in your journal. Which alter depending on new info you acquire. I liked this game. It's a shame the developer did not make more of them. 100% worth playing if you are into dark (story) action RPGs. 3.5 out of 5.

Game is currently unplayable on any system with an up to date Windows 11 OS. Due to a past update, causing incompatibility, this game will not run out of the box on Windows 11. Kalypso knows this, but there has been no further word on when this will be fixed. Let's hope GoG fixes it themselves.

I don't understand the average rating. This game deserves at least 4 stars. If you like Dragon Age or Divinity 2 for example, you will enjoy this game. Your choices have an impact on the course of the story, there are several possible romances, several side quests (not very good though), etc. Visually, it's true that the character models are not very good, but you soon forget about it. The environments look good even if it is an old game. Personally, I love the fighting mechanics (I played with a controller). The game is not as polished as Dragon Age, but it is still excellent. For example, there are few NPCs to interact with, few houses to enter, etc. Regardless, I had some great nights playing this game. The more the game progresses, the better it gets. With the majority of the side quests completed, I would say it is a 20-25 hour game.
