Deliver Us The Moon is a Sci-Fi thriller set in an apocalyptic near future where Earth's natural resources are depleted. In an effort to solve the energy crisis, global powers created the World Space Agency and secured a promising new source of energy on the moon.
The World Space Agency colonized and operated from the moon until one fateful night all communications with Earth ceased and the energy source was lost. Now, years later, you assume the role of Earth's last astronaut on a do-or-die mission to investigate what happened and save humanity.

A nice experience walking on the moon, the gameplay is very simple but the storyline is nice.
The game is basically about exploring abandoned buildings and finding out what happened, some puzzles on the way but nothing frustrating.
Overall it's a nice experience even if not a very eventful adventure.
The game convinces on many levels: graphics (unreal engine), soundtrack, story, atmosphere. In the past I was often frustrated with puzzle games, they were either too difficult or too repetitive. The puzzles in this game don't require you to be a Da Vinci but they are diverse, they don't repeat and that really helps with immersion and not getting boring. Some of the sections require a bit of agility and others are time based, not a fan of the latter but it works without causing too much frustration.
The story slowly comes to life through emails, audio logs and hologram replays and progresses as you advance through the base. I really liked the story and hope we'll see a part 2 in the future. While the story is finished, it definitely has enough material for more.
In case you are wondering about the mediocre rating: most of the negative ones are from people who got the initial release (where the ending wasn't finished) so the frustration back then was understandable but isn't a problem anymore. The game/story is finished in the current version.
I hope the devs come up with a new game in the same universe in the future. I enjoyed this more than some of the current AAA titles, even though it was a bit short (5-6hrs). I rarely buy games these days but want to support an indie studio with potential. Keep it up guys and gals and thanks for a great experience!
The options menu is indie as well, first person look without FOV is one thing, but non-rebindable keys is a sin these days.
I was excited to play this game, too bad nobody warned me of the lack of rebindable controls! Still think it is worth 15-20 quids.
Now, first of all, the game is completely divorced from reality. The premise makes little sense on multiple levels an it takes an effort to put it aside and get into the game. The true story is not being told till the last third of the game, which is a shame, because it is quite touching.
I get it that from the point of a small studio, spending time on writing in more detailed personal stories of people involved and adding more flair to counteract the generic environment feel dominated by repetitive decals would not make much sense time/money wise. At least the larger environmental structures are done well and every location gets pretty much unique feel.
The decision to avoid realistic human models in favor of holograms and our protagonist's spacesuit was a very good one. The voice acting was good, lines did not bore and I looked forward to them. It was weird that the protagonist did not drop a single line. I don't think that a line here and there would hurt the immersion in this particular game.
The ending was satisfactory. Not everything got resolved, but I felt rewarded for the effort I have put in.
Now this review might look like I do not recommend the game, but I actually think that this short story is worth being heard by you. I especially recommend it to anyone who considers making games, because it offers a lot to learn from. Good and bad.
So while not exactly a Citizen Sleeper, I will recommend it along with Tacoma.
Thanks for the game!
