Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut

A couple of Hours into the Game. It runs well on my ROG ally. I didnt come across any crashes so far. Gamepad configuration worked. All straight out of the box, didnt install any patches updates whatsoever.

Let's start with the good things: I liked the music. I really liked driving around and speaking to characters. The game is intriguing and I was always motivated to continue playing. That is despite graphics, controls and game play being quite bad and the game regularly freezing (restart your computer) or crashing. The story does go crazy towards the end and the game tries very hard to go against my enjoyment with arbitrary restrictions (certain story progress, time, place and weather) to trigger side quests, crazy fuel bars for cars (less than 10 km driving range!), shooting sections, clunky quick time events,... It is very flawed, but I liked enough to keep on playing. Don't pay too much for it and only play it if you have a high tolerance for bugs and rather bad game play.

It is impossible to play. It crashes all the time. I can't pass the hospital, its a good game for ps3, but for pc its a terrible port.

- needed hours to fix the crash after intro - controller can be used, but the tutorial overlay seems to be wrong / can't use a weapon and attack -> uninstalled

Runs at less than 10 FPS on my Nvidia 470. No controller support. Mouse support is incredibly jenky - if you want to look up or down, you have to continuously move the mouse upward or downward to "fight" the snap-down (since camera control was programmed for gamepads and sloppily mapped to mouse movement). It's also locked at 720p, though there's an unofficial patch for that. Given these issues, the game is literally unplayable for me in its current state. NOTE: Didn't play the gog.com version.
