A Fantastic CRPG
I rarely bother to write reviews, even for games that I enjoy, so understand that for me to bother putting pen to paper (so to speak) means that I am blown away. Dead State is an incredible RPG; it's everything that I want and look for in a roleplaying game. This indie title blows contemporary AAA RPGs out of the water. The turn-based combat offers lots of options and tactics. The map roaming with spontaneous Point of Interest discovery harkens back to Fallout 1 & 2. The decibel system, which shows you how much noise you're making, encourages you to be creative instead of running in to every fight with guns blazing; the last thing you want is to attract more zombies. The stronghold improvements that you can make, and managing the morale of the people you lead, makes this game about more than just killing. Take a hike, Bioware. DoubleBear just showed you who's the RPG master.
