You are Isaac Clarke, an engineer on the spacecraft USG Ishimura. You're not a warrior. You're not a soldier. You are, however, the last line of defense between the remaining living crew and deadly reanimated corpses. The undead have become Necromorphs; horrific zombie-alien hybrids that won't succumb to traditional means. Fortunately, your offense is equally unique, as the high-powered mining tools at your disposal provide the means to fight against the threat.
Messy monster slaying.
The Necromorphs are unlike any enemies you've seen before. Headshots do about as much damage to them as flicking rubber bands. To survive, you'll need to dismember their insect-like limbs, one at a time.
Improvised weapons.
There aren't many traditional firearms aboard the Ishimura, but there's plenty of stopping power in Isaac's toolkit. Send horizontal or vertical blasts of energy at enemies with the Plasma Cutter, remotely control a high-speed sawblade with the Disc Ripper, and fill hallways with wide swaths of destruction with the Line Gun. Switch things up with alternate fire modes, and purchase upgrades to increase ammo, power, and reload speed.
Real-time attacks.
Whatever you do, don’t drop your guard. Everything takes place in real-time. That means any action you take, whether it be reloading or digging through your inventory, gives the Necromorphs a perfect opportunity to attack. This nightmare has just begun and it’s up to you to get to the bottom of what happened here.
I really wanted to like this game. I really did! I think I got as far as exiting the first elevator before I turned it off and uninstalled it. Controlling this game with a mouse and keyboard is an exercise in frustration, because half the time the game ignores your mouse input and just does what it wants.
This review has nothing to do with the actual game...more on the pc version of this game. I really want to play this game...but sadly, i cant even launch the game...i will try to get a reffund....but worst part is i heard even the steam version has a lot of problems....dammit, i really didnt want to play this game on a console....
This game is unplayable due to a spinning camera bug that is seemingly unfixable. Another shameful EA pc port that really shows how horrible of a company they are.
I kid you not. when you get your first weapon there is an invisible wall in a door I need to go through, tried everything and I can't progress, it's literally in the first 10 mins of the game and there is a game stopping bug, I'm so mad that I can't play this now. Thanks EA for doing what you do best, ruin games. thankfully i bought this when it was on sale so it is what it is.
No, this is not an absolute must buy as described in one of those reviews, probably written from one of these EA owners. Take a space station, fill it with monsters like in system shock and ready is the recipe to sell endless games to unambitious gamers.
Buy it if you are one of the guys who always like to open doors because there are too much of them included. For a few doors you have to use a technical magic spell to slower the time because you will get hurt otherwise. Perhaps this shall bring some variety in the game?!
The graphics are beautiful like the sound system. The atmosphere is cool and the foes reminds me to movies like the thing. I had the effect that the scary feeling of the monsters decreased fast. The graphics are as good as the camera perspective is bad. Camera view and perspective to control the protagonist on the pc are awful. It's difficult to see what happens especially when monsters are attacking. The character is running around in a suit for deep-sea divers which means he reacts clumsy and slow in contrast to the fast enemies. Perhaps he can't jump due to his armor. Nobody warned me about this before buying it.
I got lost in these world of corridors and doors. Using the bad implemented 3D map wasn't helpful, too. Perhaps it would have been better to program an additional map for this 3D map to be able to get the orientation. And yes, I'm not willing to draw my own map anymore for games like this. That was the reason I stopped playing after a view hours. I got the hang of it. The whole environment looks too similar. Perhaps it would have been helpful if EA had played one of their endless old shooters to compare it with this bad bargain.
