Uncertainty of outcomes
The random outcomes break the balance of this game completely, ruining the whole experience. You can get objectively 2 times better result if you just re-roll the worst result that you will occasionally get. Maybe you think you're cheating yourself by save scumming, but it's the opposite. If you actually get lucky in the specific rolls early into the game, it will have a compounding effect, lowering the difficulty of the rest of the game. That's certainly a good skill to have. Now imagine every action in the game uses this system, it's basically the whole gameplay. But the developers were nice enough to implement different random distributions because they probably realized the same thing, so thankfully you can get the game to be more fair in both directions. However, now you're playing the game in a way it was not intended to be played. In conclusion, this game feels more so like a gambling simulation than anything else.
