Dead Cells

Normally, i'm not used to buy this kind of games, but in this case, i did an exeception. The first minutes are a little bit tedious, because don't understand fine the game mechanics, but (after some kills) it becomes really tasty. It remembers the Souls saga in some aspects and Castlevania in others with a little touch of speed and rogue in 2D. When you are more or less than 15 min playing, it becomes addictive. Be careful guys, because gameplay, OST and price converts in a great buy. However, although its able to play with mouse, its preferable to play with gamepad (really comfortable, i think). Enjoy that cells¡¡

This game can only be described as fun. Has Platforming elements, roguelike elements, persistent items and soooooo much to explore, even when you got through the stages a bazillion times. It encourages you to go fast by mechanics so you will not get bored after dieing. You will die. A lot. I beat the first difficulty once after about 100 tries. Still pick it up when I want a fast intermission game. Also props for the nice music. Dieing is always just the beginning of a new journey in this game, and the music really encourages you to just start another run as well as the lobby design. I would like to point out that the developers released this game years ago, and are still adding stuff. Wow!

Movement feels fluid and smooth and the game doesn't linger on lore or exposition. Just fun to play.

The game is, in fact, short, you can easily it under an hour if you know what you are doing and the RNG gods bless you, it's a game of repetition, rerun the limited number of stages mixing biomes and builds to break the rutine,, it's perfect for those that can get suck in by perfectioinist challenges, the combat is fast and responsive, some weapon are very fun, some others not at all, enemies are varied and the bosses are a good challenge, unfortunately this kind of repetition is not my thing, I prefer a more finite experience, replaying games might have been fine in the past, but I'm not young anymore.

A phenomenal game, with surprisingly rich lore and a very fun gameplay loop. Lots of Bosses and enemies to learn and defeat, many different biomes and many secrets to find. All in all a great little game taken much further than even the original creators would have hoped.
