Description
Darksiders II follows the exploits of Death, one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, in an action-packed tale that runs parallel to the events in the original Darksiders game. This epic journey propels Death across an expansive gameworld as he tries to redeem his brother, War, the horseman blamed for prematurely starting the Apocalypse in Darksiders.

Like the original Darksiders game before it, the second iteration of the series is primarily a hack ‘n slash adventure. The game takes place across netherworld environments, including "The White city," an outpost where angels live, and "The Eternal Throne," a floating fortress where the Lords of the Dead stand guard over souls that need to be cleansed.

Although Death is the most feared of the Four Horsemen, his physical abilities are very different than his brother, War. Death is far more nimble, and relies on a combination of melee and ranged attacks. In combat Death's primary weapon is his huge iconic scythe, with a wide range of other weapons and usable items that must be gathered as the game progresses. Weapons can be dual-wielded, upgradable armor can be acquired for protection and Death has access to his terrifying and powerful mount, Despair.

Deathinitive Edition Features:

Darksiders 2 with All DLCs included and integrated into the game, offering a total playtime of more than 30 hours (Maker Armor Set, The Abyssal Forge, The Demon Lord Belial, Death Rides, Angel of Death, Deadly Despair, Shadow of Death, Mortis Pack, Rusanov's Axe, Van Der Schmash Hammer, Fletcher's Crow Hammer, Mace Maximus, Argul's Tomb).

Improved Graphic Render Engine for higher visual quality especially in terms of lighting and shadows.

Improved and reworked level, character and environment graphics.

Still Broken,

I just saw the news about a new edtion of Darksiders coming out, so i thought, hey maybe they updated Darksiders 2 as well! I came here and saw the controller fix was updated, I naively thought they fixed other issues too, super excited. HEY THEY DIDN'T!!! the games still broken and stutters! and there are no fixed for that. Some people say Nvidia control panel override and stuff, BELIEVE Me, i've tried all of those. It doens't work. Just play the Darksiders 1 again if you care about the series. and Darksiders 1 is super cool game. Consider Darksiders 1 the only Darksiders series there is.

An ARPG like no other

It truly is an action rpg like no others, that does not mean it's vastly superior or anything like that. It's just different. In some ways the combat is similar to God of War though, but it has its own quirks. Overall the combat is engaging and on the hardest difficulty quite challenging. So if that's something you're after, you won't be disappointed. The music is really sweet, it's by the composer named Jesper Kyd whom composed Assassin's Creed 1,Borderlands 2, and Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide to give you an idea. The story is not bad, but not great either. But as a fan of the four horsemen general lore, I had a blast. The voice acting for Death is particularly awesome too. The game is about 30 hours if you do the DLCs, and 50 if you are a completionist. I say this because today several games that come out are way too short and yet they ask for 60 dollars. Here though, you get your money's worth. That being said for a new edition it does not bring a lot of changes. However it does include all the DLC and right now it's on sale for an insanely low price. I would even buy it full price if you're into this type of game, but obviously take advantage where you can.

Good Sequel

In my opinion this is a very good sequel to the first darksiders. With the patch status right now there are no game breaking bugs (at least i did not encoutner any).

Annoying and frustrating. Fun somtimes

This game is kinda fun until you reach the Citadel of Light stage, then the amount of puzzles and illogical pathways become unbearable. It's like 1 hour of puzzles for 5 minutes of combat. The controls also make no sense. Space to select? I key to pause the game? O key for inventory?? Who programmed this abomination of a keybinding set? Someone who touched a computer for the first time in his life maybe. Music is pretty good. The character is too slow, should have a running option. All and all, I feel like I threw my money in the trash buying this. Don't know if I have enough patience to finish the game.
