Description
Darksiders II follows the exploits of Death, one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, in an action-packed tale that runs parallel to the events in the original Darksiders game. This epic journey propels Death across an expansive gameworld as he tries to redeem his brother, War, the horseman blamed for prematurely starting the Apocalypse in Darksiders.

Like the original Darksiders game before it, the second iteration of the series is primarily a hack ‘n slash adventure. The game takes place across netherworld environments, including "The White city," an outpost where angels live, and "The Eternal Throne," a floating fortress where the Lords of the Dead stand guard over souls that need to be cleansed.

Although Death is the most feared of the Four Horsemen, his physical abilities are very different than his brother, War. Death is far more nimble, and relies on a combination of melee and ranged attacks. In combat Death's primary weapon is his huge iconic scythe, with a wide range of other weapons and usable items that must be gathered as the game progresses. Weapons can be dual-wielded, upgradable armor can be acquired for protection and Death has access to his terrifying and powerful mount, Despair.

Deathinitive Edition Features:

Darksiders 2 with All DLCs included and integrated into the game, offering a total playtime of more than 30 hours (Maker Armor Set, The Abyssal Forge, The Demon Lord Belial, Death Rides, Angel of Death, Deadly Despair, Shadow of Death, Mortis Pack, Rusanov's Axe, Van Der Schmash Hammer, Fletcher's Crow Hammer, Mace Maximus, Argul's Tomb).

Improved Graphic Render Engine for higher visual quality especially in terms of lighting and shadows.

Improved and reworked level, character and environment graphics.

Running in native 1080p resolution

Bad porting half broken.

First: don't pay attention to Yeshu review. Now i explain why: the game ins't fixed. November 2015 the game was receiving one last beta patch on steam. That patch left Vsync feature half-broken and 3 major bugs. Some people fix one of them disabling the damage counter in the game and someone else fix the vsync broken feature problem and the shuttering problem forcing vsync externally from for example the Nvidia panel control and disabling it in game, but this doesn't work with every configuration. You must have some precise Gpu and driver combo. When we are talking about Desktop, vsync feature broken means 120 fps/s in every moment of the game, so your gpu will be totally used and the gpu fan will go crazy... that mean that you MUST to have a good fan and a good heat dissipative system. I can't imagine waht could be playing this game on a notebook with the wrong GPU+Driver conditions.... Anyway, Nordic Games after that beta patch disappeared and totally ignored support request from the people that own the game. And Nordic Games bring this beta patch on GOG after a year that Steam users are using it. My opinion is that the game is actually half-fixed and half-broken and that a customer must be well informed about this situation. Nordic Games isn't a serious publisher.

This Game is one Mess Of A Console Port

As my title states, Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition is a mess, from the moment you boot up the game, to the merciful end. If you're a keyboard and mouse player, you're going to find out quickly that just rebinding keys is tedious enough to turn you off of the game, as you can't rebind one key without unbinding it from another. And after you bind a key, you get kicked up to the beginning of the keybinding menu, making you do a lot of scrolling to rebind every key. Once you've spent 20 mintues on just rebinding keys, you start the game, only to realize that the in-game menus make your keybinding experience feel like a walk in the park. You can barely see your character on the menu. Navigation is backwards. Selecting an objective is unresponsive without messing around with it. The controls are sometimes unresponsive. As others have stated, the lighting issues are still present. When I turn the camera, I see squares of darker areas that turn to light as I move and areas of the world that flicker. On to the actual gameplay. Well, it's action-packed, and there's not a dull moment. There are plenty of collectibles to find. Death's skill tree and his abilities, upgrades, weapons, and armor are plentiful, but on normal difficulty, the game is such a cake-walk that I didn't get to experience a whole lot of it. I had 8 skill points hoarded up at one point and totally forgot about upgrading my skills, and I currently have 1 million guilt, as I didn't see a point in buying anything from any of the vendors in the game since you get plenty of powerful gear from killing enemies and from chests. Darksiders II: Deathinitive doesn't have much of a story. The game feels both rushed and unbalanced. This game just mediocre, at best. You can tell that there was no love put into it as there was with the first game, and it shows. Is it playable? Sure, but you'd have more fun watching paint dry.

Unnecessary Re-release

It looks exactly the same as the original release, but it constantly crashes. Console gamers should buy this on their PS4s/Xbox Ones so they can play it at higher frame rates/resolutions than on PS3/360, but PC gamers don't benefit from this release at all.

Broken game is broken

This game is absolutely broken at this point. You have two options.. You can either A: Install the patch and then your'e not able to use a controller due to the button prompt's showing up as black boxes or B: you can not install the patch and still use a controller properly but the game will constantly crash. I'm so thankful that I only paid $3 for this game.
