Darkest Dungeon®

This game is a great turn based RPG that lets you build parties of 4 adventurers from a stable list of characters you slowly build (and lose) throughout a campaign to rid a cursed town of an unspeakable evil before it consumes everything. It's very grimdark, similar to the TTRPG Mork Borg, so expect no fairy tales here. Instead, expect gore, terror, horror, and despair. If you enjoy that kind of atmosphere and some old fashioned dungeon crawling where you have to count things like torches and rations to survive, fight unspeakable horrors, and die often, then this is a game for you.

I come back to this game every year or so. Never gets old! Good balance of difficult but not impossible

Why are you reading this? There are easier and more robust review methods available in 2025 and beyond. Integrated reviews in storefronts like Steam/GOG are outdated and rarely used. I applaud you for your unorthodox methods. Anyway, I have loved (and still love) this game. 10/10

I feel like this game is the definition of risk and reward, the game is challenging to to point of being unfair, most people would tell you that this game does not like you and is actively trying to kill you, and there is a little bit of truth, this game does not hold your hand in the slightest however it makes completing quests and figuring out how to get past hard parts of this game so much more rewarding but I can say that this game is almost the opposite of a power fantasy but thats ok it has probably pushed away a lot of potential fans but it wouldnt be the same without a form of punishment in the gameplay
