I am writing this under an appreciable mental strain, since by tonight I shall be no more.
Dagon is a 3D narrative experience in madness based on the cult short story of the same title by the master of cosmic horror and weird fiction, H. P. Lovecraft himself. It’s an interactive portal into the world of the controversial genius and his highly acclaimed Cthulhu Mythos, open to both newcomers and long-time devotees.
The change happened whilst I slept.
Step into the shoes of a former ship officer and morphine fiend, and dive into the Stygian Abyss of a drug-addled mind. Uncover the unspeakable, long-drowned horrors on a distant eldritch island and wallow in Lovecraftian dread.
I think I went mad then.
So make yourself comfortable in front of the screen and experience cosmic horror first-hand in this 100% faithful adaptation of the original story. It will only take about 30 minutes, but you may never look at the ocean the same way.
Features:
immerse yourself in a fully-voiced narrative experience in real-time 3D
discover the origin of the Cthulhu Mythos and the twisted world of H. P. Lovecraft
treat yourself to a short, free horror that can be experienced in 30 minutes
learn about the original story, its author and their impact on culture etc. while playing
buy an optional DLC to support our future projects and get additional goodies (including an audiobook and a screenshot-filled e-book)
Warning: side effects may include insomnia, delirium and acute cosmic horror.

I've read about Lovecraft only from third party sources, this is a great introduction and visual representation of his iconic cosmic horror. Great little experience, really liked the collectibles about the writer himself and his historic context. Recommended.
Immersion in a story is so very important. The use of the imagination in scenes in books can only rarely be matched by movies. Dagon is something quite different than a movie or a book. It puts you in the story in such a way that is as good and sometimes better than what the imagination can offer, so that you're left with the impression that you've experience something quite special. I feel fortunate that I have a computer and ran across Dagon. This changes things and I will be looking forward to the additions (DLC) to Dagon and other stories presented in this manner in the future. Great project!
As a big fan of the works of Lovecraft, I found Dagon to be a fantastic, immersive and faithful interactive retelling of the short story.
The voice acting was excellent and the audio ambiance framed the narration very well.
In terms of gameplay, there isn't much. And Dagon did not set out to be more than being, as written before, an interactive story which takes about an hour to finish. You click to proceed through the events - there are no puzzles, no action scenes, no decisions. However there are tidbits of trivia hidden in many of the scenes, which sometimes take a keen eye to uncover. And for fans of Lovecrafts work, these are really, really cool.
All in all, I thoroughly recommend Dagon for fans and those who might want to become one themselves. For the asking price of FREE, you can't do anything wrong here.
For a short 30-minute story it was great! Graphics and audio created an immersive experience for a first-time Lovecraft reader. The trivia was an added bonus to get to know more about the author.
Only problem was that the view rotation got clunky at times and it would be difficult to click on small hotspots. As it is, the 3D world felt more for immersion than actual gameplay.
