Absolute magnificent storytelling

TL;DR: the way the game handles these well written characters is definitely something else. The game gives you choices which aren't good or bad, you can choose whatever suits you but it clearly affects the way these characters see you or how they behave towards you. It puts you in a rollercoaster of emotions in a pretty well designed city with a great atmosphere. Doing a second playthrough and it just keeps surprising me when picking other options. The thing that stands out for me in this game are definitely the people you meet in this game. Each person has it's own personality which defines how they judge your actions in this game. Added with some absolute great voiceacting it makes these characters feel alive. Aside from the regular interaction during (side)missions you get these small moments of contact with them through a phonecall or textmessage where you can also interact with them. It's very clever because it helps create a bond or a feeling of friendship for these NPCs. Some are suble and progress naturaly, some have a little more push to it. But overall each one of them are so very well made and i absolutely love it. The game itself is complex, you have different ways to play it as a character (from heavy gunning soldier to a sneaky hacking netrunner. You have different ways to handle outcome of some missions, without being clearly right or wrong. (sometimes yea, but you know when that happens). Most of the time you can just do what you feel is right for you, or you can set aside your own feelings and do what's best for your NPC friend. The city is fun. Past few updates brought it alive and there are a lot of random events or funny NPC dialogs you can listen to. With each part of the city having their own feel to it, it's a great city to wander about. 5/5 recommand, even if its just to meet the NPC's of Night City.

One of the best games out there.

There isn't a better Cyberpunk game out there. It's one of the best story driven FPSs out there, with great writing, fine gameplay and incredible world building.

single base game playthrough 120h

it's around an 8.5/10. I was one of the lucky few who experienced very little bugs on launch. The only things I saw/had were simple trigger issues (fixed with quick-saving/-loading) and the AI something doing wonky shit (in terms of movement) but these are common in virtually ALL open world games. So I didn't have any problems with it. I played a netrunner build with tech weapons. The build I went for really gave you things to work towards and you could feel your power increase with each perk you recieved. (Now in 2.0, I'm kinda like I don't want 90% of these perks.. who knows maybe it'll change, only ~10h into the 2.0 phantom liberty with a fresh playthrough) I thoroughly enjoyed each piece of cyberware I added to V (eventhough the economy (cash/crafting resources) was broken.) because just like the perks you could genuinely feel a shift in your gameplay, things worked a little faster/better. E.g. the double jump legs opened up the city, tons of roofs containing loot, new ways to get into buildings (which otherwise required a far more nuanced approach, actually looking for a way up, and now it was just poof Im there) and especially with netrunning cyberware felt impactful because your cyberdecks varied wildly between stats, from hacking through walls to making legendary quickhacks jump to additional targets. Now in 2.0, I'm not so sure if I am enjoying cyberware. I've checked out half of the ripperdocs and it seems like they all have the exact same gear. Real shame imo. (also kinda semi sorta maybe dislike the body requirements, how each piece costs a piece of 'humanity'? it's just very unclear how to get more) Driving was utter shit but the cars had cool designs, I just drove the batmobile everywhere due to its speed and acceleration. Nearly out of text here. Main Story was good, really good, rather short sadly. side content, nice locations, story told via text was kinda bad side quests good. police encounters fine city life, alive things to do in city, dead

a disappointment

The graphics do show their age, but maybe I raise the bar a bit too high. Maybe. One issue are the characters. They are forgettable and it's very hard to build a relationship with them, with few exceptions. 'V' has that terrible brutforced voice over "please like me". 'V' should have been from the get-go on par with Adam Jensen from Deus Ex, or Joel Badass from the Last of us. Why to create such a weak protagonist is beyond me. The tremarkable open world of Night City is a gem and leaves you hours of exploring the dark and wicked parts of this Cyberpunk environment. CD Red dit a fantastic job. 100% The controls feel solid. The interasctions and button combos don't make sense at time and can be frustratingly overcomplicated especially for people with motoric disabilities. This makes Cyberpunk to the most unfriendly game and should be played by people without any disabilities. A game pad can help, but not everyone does have a gamepad or can use one. Big MINUS The Story is only a bonus and feels detached. I personally got more story out of Mass Effect, Deus Ex and the Last of us. I thought I get something similar with Cyberpunk. Cyberpunk remains a disappointment.
