Stunning

I enjoyed the original game, which I played a year after its release to avoid any major problems. Playing Phantom Liberty felt like a sequel...because, wow, just wow. I was blown away by the pace, the story, and the upgrade of the original game (the 2.0 patch). It transforms you into a real badass, especially with the enhanced vehicle mechanics (like being able to make them explode). My only regret is that Phantom Liberty story doesn't blend well with the original story when you play it from beginning to end and set aside the other parts. Some really hardcore stuff happens, and you'd expect those events to be reflected in the main plot. That said, well done, team. I feel like this is the game you wanted to release from the beginning, although I'm sure there was much more planned, such as flying cars. Please make more DLCs like this—they're worth every single penny (in my case, Japanese Yen

A good dlc in my opinion

I finished today, and currently I had zero crashes. Quite enjoyable dlc. Not very sure about the complains about the story, the fighting, etc, for me at least, it was quite easy (I started it in medium difficulty and level 60)

More action, less rp

The main quest in the DLC contains more railroad gamedesign than the vanilla game: mandatory shooting segments, tiring spongy bosses, horror quest that not scary at all. The immersive sim-like elements are disappeard. For me they were important. The next problem is the characters who are disconnected from the protagonist. Like I am a beholder of their stories and not an actve member. Good sides: funny secondary characters, contracts are deeply designed than in the main game (but some contracts are also contain mandatory bosses), new music is good as always, new location is dense but unique, the game looks better than most of the new triple a games.

Better mechanics & weaker writing.

This DLC changes and improves alot of things in the base game, both mechanically and graphically while also doing the usual dlc thing of adding more items, quests, areas and abilities. Most of it improves the game quite alot but there are some questionable design desicions, such as removing crafting materials from vendors and instead just drowning the player in "rare" loot to dismantle. The only real critique i have is that the writing of the new stuff is notably worse on the whole than the base game. It is not outright bad, just of lower quality than the rest and it is noticable enough to be kind of jarring, CDPR lost most, or possibly all, of its best writers during the development of Cyberpunk2077 and it is obvious that they have been unable to find equally talented replacements. This comes aross most notably from the minor characters as well as the various notes you find. It also does not help that some of the minor voice actors are downright irritating. Still, it is a great DLC that adds alot to the game and is well worth the asking price.

Review after completing the main story and several side quests

First of all: I wrote this review after completing the main game Cyberpunk 2077 (v. 2.0) and at the add-on Liberty City in one row, after 63 hours of gaming. Second: I had some technical issues. For example my game crashed permanently after some hours of gaming, because my GPU driver (AMD) died. In game, I had some clipping issues: NPC´s stucked in objects (happened rarely), my character felt through the bottom of the map (happened ones), my vehicles stucked several times in objects. Two times I wasn´t able to finish a mission, because of the mission objects weren´t triggered. So, I had to reload an older savegame and play the mission, again. After the reloading, it works. Third: The new district of Night City, it is very small compared to the rest of the Night City map. It´s more like an extention of the Pacifca district. Fourth: The new cars in game are very nice. Some of them are tanks on wheels. Of course, it´s a lot of fun to kill opponents with them. Fifth: The story is interesting with a lot of decisions for the player and twists. Sixth: The gameplay, most of the time you will play in the new district. Some sidequests are leading you between the "old" Night City districts and the "new" Liberty City. All components of the base game are available and expanded for example threw the new skill tree. There are also new types of enemy hives, where you will find a lot of enemies and better loot. Conclusion: I will recommend the add-on to everyone, who liked the base game. It´s a nice and fine addition for a fair price. 4 of 5 stars, because the new "area" is to small for my taste and also the techinical issues.
