I played the game on Patch 1.6 and onward. And therefore I could really enjoy the game. Of course there are still some bugs and glitches in the game, but the major ones and most of the small ones are already fixed, and I had zero game breaking bugs in my almost 70 hours ingame.
Aside from the technical aspect, the game was great. The Main Story is short but you can do so much on the side, that you dont even really notice it. The Gameplay is fun and you can customize your character to your wishes as you want. The Characters you meet during your time in Night City are all great, You either hate them (but in a good way) or you love them.
Give it a try, now you wont regret it.
Like many others I avoided Cyberpunk when it first came out - lots of bad reviews, plus I'm getting too old to play games when they release, prefer to pick them up later after DLC releases etc.
A little while back Epic had it on sale so I picked it up, and was blown away by the experience. The game just oozes atmosphere, walking (or driving/running/shooting) through Night City is an experience I've rarely had in game: near complete immersion in the story.
I did run into a few bugs, most of them very minor; and there are a few places still rough around the edges. But that's not what I remember - I remember V's journey, the fully realized characters, the hidden stories and easter eggs, on and on.
Plenty of (very) adult content, so keep that in mind - hopefully no one picks this one up thinking it's aimed at kids. And while I realize that kind of content is sort of a staple of the genre, I do wish there were more options to avoid it so I could recommend it more easily to a wider range of people.
But setting that aside, I definitely recommend this game, and I'm looking forward to more content from CDPR!
Cyberpunk was released flawed, there was bugs, it was a tad bit boring with aged game mechanics, a futuristic GTA5, underwhelming in the fun factor, but visually it was a dream, one the best looking games of all time.
Now however it's good, it's not even good it's great and more content is coming! yes! the Netflix series made me revisit this game and I'm glad I did, 1.6 is so good and I can't wait for 1.7, thank you CD Projekt Red can't wait to see what you can come up with next and the fact you're still working on this game is praiseworthy.
... have I waited for this cyberpunk game. Finally I can enjoy this beautiful and believable world which is so carefully crafted, so much detailed. Well there are some reminiscence of bugs but nothing serious. And guys: the story and all the cyberpunk characters... awwww
I first had a look at this, and played a bit, at a friends house, and up front, i was totally blown away by how gorgeous the world looked and it's clear why it took time.
Moving around in the world felt a bit off to me at first, gun play felt clunky too, and it felt as though i would never get the hang of that. However, probably around one hour into the game, and i didn't even notice those first impressions about controls any more. I was now totally immersed and LOVING the experience.
Now that i got the game myself, it feels a ton better than i remember it feeling the first time i started playing at my friends house. I haven't noticed any problems, and the gameplay, for me, is as smooth as butter rolling around in a got frying pan. Just delish!
So, couple the fluid and sensible controls of the game, with the stunning, eye catchingly gorgeous game world, and you can easily lose a whole evening playing this game and then realize you were supposed to be in bed four hours ago.
As to the complaints at release, well my friend never said anything, and i can't recall anything game breaking. Then again, i've been gaming since the Atari 2600, and have seen pretty much everything by now.
There was legitimate complaints, but even those cases were nothing we hadn't seen before.
At times reading reviews, it felt like some were piling on for the sake of piling onto something. Obviously issues and problems were always going to be resolved, but i think many forgot that CD Projekt Red aren't some massively wealthy corporation like Activision or EA, who by the way, dragged their feet long enough on some pretty major problems throughout their own histories.
It happens to everyone.
Anyway, in ending.... buy it. Play it. You'll come to love it too.
Oh, now they got these game assets done, their next games should see much smoother releases.
