The radio music volume is so low compared to the in game music volume. With the "Car Radio" bar at 100, the "Music" bar at 100 and the "SFX" bar at Z E R O.......the radio is just audible. Please let me jam accordingly \m/
Expectations after Witcher aside..
First impressions:
incredible graphics, lack of cutscenes in literal sense combined with firs person view adds a great deal to the immersion, not mentioning character animation during interactions. I have an awful tendency to skip dialogs in other games, but not here. On the downside: some glitches here and there (pick-up items stuck in the floor, some dude levitating in the middle of a road, skipped frames during otherwise seamless animations). Also, you see all those implants, mods, cyber customisation which you don't know how to handle in the beginning - a bit confusing.
As game progressess..:
- For me story is spot on. Dialogues, slang, twists, a bit of silliness during dialogues and some interactions - love it
- When I looked at the map for the first time I thought "oh no, GTA/Saints Row all over again.. But City itself is beautiful and even though gigs, random events etc seem a bit generic sometimes, there is a lot going on and it doesn't create a feeling that you have to tick off each and every side-mission/event to grind your character. It all just happens in its own pace.
Talking about character, who said that if you can customize it in many aspects and wear fancy clother you need to admire it all the time? Actually I like the fact that you just see it from time to time in the mirror, or during scripted events.
- Driving works nice, but if you are not a driver it's a bit stiff
- Combat - awesome - a lot of possibilities, very dynamic and over the top.
- Civilians, walk a bit stiff but if you look at them as a crowd, they look alive especially in crowded areas.
- Not a fan if enemy AI.While they try to spread, surround you etc it's still predictible, generic and easy to abuse
Some other thoughts:
- (as in most games), "press W to walk forward"-ish tutorials are a bit humiliating...
- love the music
- Johnny has weird eyes if he takes off glassess...
It's not perfect, but still amazing. Make it even better
Most of us are looking for the end of 2020. There was no better time to
release Cyberpunk 2077, even with all of its issues.
Let me tackle two of the problems mentioned by others, on PC:
1. Cannot configure the controls. There are ways to reach a working setup
by editing the configuration files
2. The driving is touchy. You'll get used to it, after killing a few people.
And it forces you to drive at reasonable speeds in a crowded city.
If you really find it difficult try a motorcycle, driving one seemed easier to me.
I personally find driving enjoyable, still haven't got bored of driving
through the city, from mission to mission.
Some other things I found that need improvement:
1. The map, it doesn't have basic options like: zoom, stop it from rotating;
and it doesn't show the direction you are going (i.e. north, south, etc.)
2. Some perks have very few explanations. I took Hidden Dragon and I still
don't know how to actually use it. Gave up even on searching it on the net.
Respect for the people actually involved in the development of the game, for
starting on such a big and challenging project. Blame for the people who
didn't make it clear the game had problems, especially on the older
generation of consoles.
The graphics and the story are impressive and not much more needs to be said about that.
Nevertheless, there are many bugs and glitches here and there that will hopefully be fixed in the near future.
Otherwise, I can only recommend the game. Have fun and everyone who reads this have a nice day. SAMURAI ;D
I've really enjoyed my time spent in Night City so far. The story, characters, and environments are top-notch in my opinion. Much like Novigrad CDPR has managed to make a city which feels real in its size, layout, and population density. Additionally, they have created characters who I have been able to get invested in and really care about.
That being said, the game isn't perfect, and doesn't appear to deliver on all that was promised. Beyond the visual glitches the game has some serious AI issues when it comes to drivers, pedestrians, and the police officer in the game, none of which seem to behave very realistically. It also seems like some things were added to the game just it could be said they were in there, like the infamous genitalia customization, which is something that can't even be seen in-game outside of the inventory and the mirror with FPP and Photo-Mode showing generic underwear on V's body. Coming back around to AI, nobody even seems to notice you aren't wearing pants (missed opportunity for a hilarious streaking achievement/side-quest perhaps with different reactions based on size). In any case the whole feature feels very gimmicky in its current state and may as well have not been included at all.
Moving past the gimmicky genitalia, the story itself doesn't feel nearly as malleable to player choice as we were led to believe. You choose between 3 life paths but they are essentially all funneled back to the same start-point inside of 10 minutes with no notable differences other than dialogue options that don't seem to have much impact in most cases. So far I haven't found an NPC which reacts differently to my character based on his life-path. Additionally, my character doesn't look, sound, or act any differently based on his life-path, so once again this just feels like a bit of a shallow feature.
I'm hopeful that some these issues will be fixed in coming months, but it's unlikely all of them will be. Overall it's a fun game but not what I hoped
