Bugs bring it down...

The story the writing, the world, the gameplay, the characters and the graphics are breathtaking. Unfortunately the game crashes very often (even more when you have an fps counter). There are numerous bugs, like clipping through clothing, guns benig transparent, when Johnny smokes, his unlit cigarette model stays while the lit model is there. When trying to climb through some windows or over short obstacles I find myslef getting catapulted 200 m away. I have about 20ish hours with the game (launched and counted through playnite). I cannot wait to play more. Despite the bugs the game is fantastic. If the bugs werenèt there and there was more polish, this oculd easily be a 5 star game. Playing with a 1660 ti and a 4800h with FidelityCAS at 90-100% and settings arounf memd. I can hit 60 but there are some weird stutters. Playing from an NVME ssd. Hope the patches can turn this game into a 10/10

My time in Night City.

So far, I have had an amazing experience. I love Night City and the Cyberpunk world. It's beautiful, engrossing, and exactly the type of game I like. I have, and will continue to sink hours into the Gigs and trying to map out the perfect approach. There isn't choice via dialogue option that we are all accustomed to from modern RPGs. Instead, most of how you shape you V seems to come from choice of action. The real interesting part of that is the game doesn't inform you of all those possibilities. You have to listen and look for them. There are two instances I know of where I caught this in action. Cases where there is a clue in what people say to you that you can choose to act on, or not, and it changes the outcome of the job. I LOVE this! for experience and replay. I've read about all the bugs and issues, even on PC, so let's talk about what I've seen so far - - Some issues picking up loot (sometimes it's under an environment element, or stuck in the ground. One time a gun litereally fell through the ground). - Terrain death a couple times. - Some NPC T-posing. (Nothing like I've seen online, I've only seen a handful of NPCs do it. My character has yet to do it while I drive, and I drive only in 3rd person) - I had one situation where I crashed. It was two crashes in the same Gig when I did the same action. So it was recreatable. - After a number of hours gaming in the same session, Probably over 6 hours or so at least, I might see some texture issues. Looks like they are spazzing out in some areas. I just restart the game to resolve. That's it for technical bugs I've witnessed. Specs - Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9600K CPU @ 3.70GHz (6 CPUs), ~3.7GHz Memory: 16384MB RAM Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8GB Drive Model: Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 500GB The only other issues for me are small control gripes that I would like to see more options for on PC. Dodging, conversation selection, others have a more comprehensive list. It's minor for me.

I'm enjoying this game, however.....

......there are lots of minor graphical bugs, I dont doubt that CDPR wil get these sorted out pretty soon so i'm not letting those affect my score, the more serious issues though are the AI, NPC's are just like set dressing really and most of them you cant interact with, the poor AI really effects the combat as there are times that enemys just stand there without attacking or run through a door that is closed. NPC cars just drive around and smash into you if you stop. The saving grace is the story, it really is great and keeps you coming back like a good book. The cast of charcters are also very good and you find yourself caring about some of them, which is always a good thing in a game. The city looks amazing and is huge. there are lots of side quests to get stuck into. If CDPR sort out the AI and fix all of the bugs this could be one of the best games ever made. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

should have been early access

Well what to say, the game is good storywise(the straight line to the end...), just doesn't feel i can choose my own path most of it is scripted. I wish we could customise car, customise character, customise weapon, overall the game isn't that interactive, the character creation was very cool but then... well that was a one time only. The sex scene aren't that great, NPC doesn't really have any personality one moment they tell you hello the next time you talk to them they straight up insult you... The game looks more like a technical demo of what can be done but not a finished game, when did it became acceptable to release a game like this ? Since the PS3/Xbox 360 and the ability to patch game after the release it seems like it's been abused more and more over the time. As a developper myself i do understand deadline can be hard and some changes has to be made over time, but when something isn't ready well just say it honestly, or at least release a demo so people(the client) can see or have something to understand why and what is wrong, or just well delay it again instead of releasing it like a complete game, i'm really sad some feature have been removed due to the deadline i really hope we can see them in a future patch. I just hope that january patch will solve most of the bugs(even if i won't be in holiday to enjoy it :( ) As for now i hope you the best, treat your developpers well(cause they probably didn't wanted to release it this way and have been forced to do so) and get back on your feet samurai, we have a city to burn(without bug ;) )

I'm having a great time with it!

It is so sad that most players can't enjoy this game. I'm playing on i7-9700, RTX 2700 Super, 16 gb ram, and a m.2 SSD. I'm running ray tracing on ultra and settings on a mixture of high and ultra. DLSS is, of course, turned on. It's the default setting that the game chose and I haven't touched them. The graphics far exceed what I thought I would be able to pull off. I haven't had ANY of the problems that most people are having. I had Jackie clip through a door, a few traffic poles were missing, and the obligatory open world game floating objects. With those exceptions, the game runs butter smooth. The story missions are, at times, like watching a movie and the side missions are a blast. I've even came upon a man with a smoking crotch. Apparently, black market cyber-enhancements aren't the smartest move. Now, having said that, suggesting a GTX 1060 as recommended settings was a bit misleading. I do have faith that they will work out the kinks, eventually. They are a good company. I think they tried flying a bit too close to the sun, though. I now have to decide if I should try and take the (thankfully unopened) copy of Cyberpunk 2077 for the Xbox One X back or just give it to my son for Christmas. He's grown but I'm not sure he knows the expression "caveat emptor".
