Nowhere near the game we were sold.

Long story short, all the way up until just before the release date they talked about stuff "that was in the game" all while knowing full well that it was a lie. They sold us 25% of the game, and years after the fact the game is more stable but still only 25% of what they said was in the game. No wait. Actually, they removed nudity post-launch because 3 people that probably didn't even buy the game complained on Twitter, so the game is closer to 24.7% of what we were sold. Cyberpunk 2077 is worse than No Man's Sky. At least Hello Games owned up to their mistake and tried to actually deliver. CDPR never had any intention of owning up or delivering and now they want you to pay for DLC while the base game is still incomplete. The Witcher 3 being good was obviously a complete fluke.

Fun game for sure

I have had heaps of fun in CP2077 and played through it multiple times by now. You have so many options how you want to play your character and so many ways to express yourself in the game. A fantastic world to explore and discover so many hidden and surprising items/events/quests and secrets. A plethora of unique characters to interact with and maybe even flirt a bit. And they play a strong part in the story. Multiple endings to discover.

Ambitious, I'll give it that.

It would be easy to criticize this after all that's happened but you put this next to some other games in recent memory and CP does stand on it's own. Graphics: amazing Gameplay: tolerable Sound: Very good Story: OK, just a little too much Johnny in your face all the time I could do without so much Johnny being mouthy all the time, otherwise it's decent, a very imaginitive take on the future of humanity and we do to ourselves. This probably doesn't have the level of polish on every single UI element that some other games have and I found looting to be one of the most tedious things about this whole game. So much so that I played it on the easiest difficulty just so I wouldn't have to keep looting for better weapons. Once 2.0 comes out in a few days I think I'll give this another go, it deserves it.

Great Action Adventure Game. Not an RPG.

I have no idea why this was ever marketed as an RPG. This is an action adventure game where 80% of the experience is sitting idly listening to dialogue. The RPG mechanics have been almost completely stripped away with 2.0, not that they were prevalent on launch. Why can't we reset our skills more than once? Why is armor now cosmetic? Why are healing items now on a cooldown in an RPG? Why are grenades on a cooldown in an RPG? Where are the factions with content to play through? Where are the meaningful story decisions that allow players to "role-play"? The few remnants of RPG mechanics left only serve to make this Action Adventure experience cumbersome. All four hours were a chore, and I'm calling it quits now.
