Been here since the start

So, i only started this on PC just before 1.6 but i have over 130 hours on xbox series x, starting day one. I really love this game but it is not perfect. I have been here since the start, with all the crazy bugs and outright fails. Still, the game always shined for me, even when driving a motorcyle under a bridge in the rain caused me to fall through the street and crash the xbox itself. i finished the game on xbox but the introduction of cross progression made me want to try PC during my follow-ups. being able to toy with mods has been great. pros: - great story with lots of hidden choices and optional content - great voice acting - netrunner builds are totally my thing - mod support keeps the game fresh - unique and fun build options - i love site seeing in Night City cons: - driving cars is a still a complete mess. the motorcycles are fine, i guess, so i stick to them. - weak gunplay. it has improved but feels more like a Deus Ex than CoD. i like this. most seem not to. - will never be what was advertised. that e3 trailer... we will never see that game. all-in-all, this went from a disappointment i loved despite its faults to a game i just love and want to see more investment in by CDPR. as an aside, i am playing on a razer blade with a 3080 onboard. i run with all the pretty turned on at 1440 (with DLSS) and raytracing at psycho and manage a consistent, almost locked 30 fps. i can drop the pretty and get to 60 (not RT) but the game is not that fast and i don't feel the need for twitch timing. i have seen complaints about how end decks not running this well but cannot confirm. since my laptop with an 11th gen inside is keeping this running well, i am not sure what is making the difference. to close, i bought the PC version at half-price after the xbox at full in 2020. i think the game is worth that. YMMV though.

stunning trip

Surprisingly thrilling, and for something which you originally perceive as a simple gang story, it turns into a riveting rollercoaster of twists, shocks and an awesome deep dive into the world of Night City

Artistically great, Gameplay-wise decent

Artistically it is great and there are very few games that can compete with it. The world greatly illustrates the cyberpunk genre, but does not make it seem unauthentic. While walking or driving through the world, you will see advertisements from the in game companies which look authentic but also very disturbing and shocking, which demonstrates the mindset population. It delivers multiple radios with music made for the game, the in game soundtrack also delivers. It suits the nature of the world, but still manages to be unique. The story is simple, but the characters you interact with and meet actually feel like people thanks to their voice acting and writing. Sadly, after you have finished all the quests for the specific character, you do not interact with them again. With all those points, the immersive world of Cyberpunk 2077 takes you in and makes you feel empty after completing the game. Gameplay wise it is decent and tries to deliver some RPG elements like: - Character creation, which delivers a good amount of customisation options, but it could have been better by granting more body customisation options. - Talent Trees which works, but since the effects of each of the talents are low, you barely feel the effect of the talent (kind of like Classic WoW Talent Trees). - There are multiple weapon types, which all feel different, but not satisfying. Enemies either die way too fast or way too slow. - In game choices are present in the story, but I am quite conflicted about the way they handled it. At the end of the game, all your choices you did beforehand, will not matter and only the choice you will do at the end actually matters. As someone who likes the game, I would interpret it as an artistic choice, but if I look at it objectively, I would say that this could have been handled better. To wrap it all up, I definitely recommend the game if you enjoy games like The Witcher 3, where the gameplay is relatively weak, but is doing a great job artistically.

Play CP2077 if you like Neuromancer

Info: Played on PC in 03-2023, patch 1.61, 150 hours game time, one play through, graphics on ultra, difficulty setting - very hard, completed all side missions & gigs. TLDR: A good game, but not on par with The Witcher 3 or Mass Effect 2. At this point I feel no incentive to play it again, but I did get 150 hours out of it. Impressions: The game is beautiful and Night City is vibrant. Game mechanics are fun (diverse weapons , abilities, items). If you are into the Cyberpunk genre and have read Neuromancer or Altered Carbon and want to see what a world like that would be like, this is a great way to experience it. There was a lot of effort put into world building from random news, to articles you could read, to interactions with characters, to give you both a sense of the city and the time/world events happening around it. That being said, my biggest issue with Cyberpunk is that it has a very short main plot and non-impactful side missions. The only seeming choice on side missions is whether to carry them out (and therefore see content) or not, rather than very impactful choices in them and these having further consequences. All plot endings seem to be available based on choices just within the last plot mission as long as you didn't completely skip side missions. Given the amount of world building and foreshadowing done, I would have expected a much longer and more strategic main plot with player choices being more impactful. Constructive feedback/Wishlist: - Add more diverse missions/gigs (Racing, fist fights were nice but brief examples), all others essentially narrow down to, take out all enemies either in stealth or not in stealth and then clear up any other objective after) -Ability to create custom map markers and label these. -A much better inventory/item system. -Opponent diversity/difficulty and having bigger climax battles. Aside two boss fights nothing felt challenging. -Continued fixing of bugs (there are still graphical and other glitches)
