It's not perfect, but it was a good game
I wasn't really on the hype bandwagon and started playing version 1.05 on a potato with a i7-4790K and GTX 970 from back when this game started being developed. Put in maybe 40 or so hours into a single playthrough and experienced only one crash, many glitches of things spawning or despawning, few sound bugs, but honestly nothing that annoyed me too much as far as performance. The characters, world and story was very gripping in the beginning, but I felt things slowing down in the final 3rd. By the end of my playthrough I felt some of the dialogue and choices didn't make much sense. Clearly this part of the game did not get the polish it deserved. I could get past the somewhat clunky controls that feel like a quick console port, but the one part of the game that I found truly infuriating and frustrating was driving. There are no words to describe how bad cars handle on PC. The fact that there are a few unavoidable story quests where you HAVE to drive and a lot of side missions involving driving AND they made cars this big collectable part of the game knocked down a whole star for me. This is not a Witcher 3 or a Red Dead Redemption 2 and it's always easy to focus on the negatives, but overall I had a good time with this game, even if I don't see any reason to replay it. If they ever do an overhaul of cars, it would be a good 4 star title for me.

I'm not going to delve too deeply into the history of this game. CP2077 automatically receives a 2 for that shameful display. However, CDPR earned 2 more stars by not breaking their promises, but simply delaying them.I think it has excellent audio: sound effects, voiceovers, score, and even more important, a killer soundtrack with too many genres to list. I listen to the radio tracks all the time on YouTube. I mean...you have A$AP Rocky in the hizouse! En la calle ando! Mucho Mucho Mucho Mucho Dinero! ;-) Yeah, they're bad sometimes....in the good way! Graphically, its quite realistic in a futuristic cityscape post-apocalypse kinda way. If you use RT, it totally changes the atmosphere of the game, giving it more depth of immersion. I sometimes just boot the game and drive or walk around for hours just sightseeing and taking in the view Sometimes the character animations are clunky though. Gameplay is actually what I'd call middle ground. It's nothing new or innovative, nor is it bad in any way. It's a very capable FPS, an ok stealth game, a decent hacking game, a now thanks to transmog an even better RPG than it had been previously. There is a plethora of weapons, cyberware, gear, play styles and builds to further tailor to your RPG needs. I know, I know....people say that dialog choices make no difference, and that's true for the most part. However, the game really shines when you are simply just playing to play without trying to advance the story. The main game is rather short, but the side missions will keep you busy for quite a while. Bugs....well, there are some, but not as many remain as folks want to claim. They have been actively working on it since release, Performance is rather good to great...not flawless...but getting better each and every patch mostly. Frame stability little iffy, but I'm able to maintain smoothness 95% of the time by simply using the in-game fps limiter and Psycho settings on an RTX 3080 @1440p Balanced DLSS.

Would'a been better as a looter shooter.
Pros: + Great world design, lots of interiors and open areas both of which are very detailed and interactive. + Good writing, at least for the main quest(s). + Combat is basic but pretty satisfying for the most part. + The original score absolutely slaps. + The weapons and vehicles are very well modeled/animated, to the point where it makes even the latest FPS games look antique. Neutral: ~ The licensed soundtrack is pretty bad, though I think that was intentional given the nature of the game. ~ The driving is pretty bad, cars are very slow and sluggish despite supposedly running on the "super fuel" of the future. However it uses actual simulated physics as opposed to just making every car drive like it's on rails and some aspects like the suspension model are actually quite impressive. Bad: - Buggy, even after so many patches it still gives Bethesda a run for their money. - Very demanding hardware-wise but it never feels like it puts it to good use. - Quest design is linear and aside from the main questlines the rest are fairly generic assassination or fetch quests. Also what few RPG elements it has feel shoehorned in just for the sake of selling it as an RPG. - Character progression is over engineered. - Balancing is non existent, you can mow down a warehouse full of corporate mercs like a school shooter at a day care then get one-shotted on your way out by the crack dealer in the nearby alley. - Vehicle crash physics are also non-existent, in fact the vehicles don't seem to take much damage at all before they explode. - Can't keep playing after the ending, instead the game reloads a checkpoint and rewards you with whatever items were exclusive to the ending you picked, thus ruining both immersion and continuity at the same time. - Marketing pretty much spoiled the entire story. - Hardly any customization aside from the character's appearance. - Half a f***ing hour long credits that can't be skipped, keep in mind this game has like 5 endings.
