In evry patch graphic has been downgraidign on PC - I've to roll back to the patch 1.12 in order to get the graphic back to the "better quality". How is it passible that each patch only made it worse? - not better? I didnt have time to play much in winter and sprig - bearly 10h or so. And when I've seen the leates game after patch.. i was furious. this game now looks like 2015-2018 game tops! Rolling back to patch 1.12 helps - but this feeling that you are beeing cheated stays. Avoid this game.
This game could have been great with proper time and attention. Instead we're given a game at launch that has not only several bugs but sub-par aspects all around. If they actually deliver on what was advertised with free updates, fixes, and DLC to finish the game I'll probably buy it again (I refunded).
The Good: The visuals and atmosphere deliver most of the time. Living in this dystopian, near future open world can be immersive and entertaining all by itself at times. The beauty in the city and landscapes designs are awesome. Character development for the player and most main characters takes it's time and is emotional.
The Bad/OK: The main story feels like a good movie, but bad in the way when you realize you're playing a game where you should have agency in choices you make. There are multiple endings but all of them are never fully satisfying for a game. Side questing is even worse in this way, with sub plots that seems like they could shape your choices as a character and the world you live in, then end up again ultimately feeling disappointing, empty, or non existent outside cutscenes. Supporting characters get a chance to be really fleshed out and ingrained with the player but then either stop abruptly via questing or get removed to serve as "depth" for the player's journey right before they get good in and of themselves. Gameplay is ok until you settle into your build and get certain gear and abilities, and then gets way too easy and one-dimensional without much challenge. An example is having the ability to see enemies through walls, and with a sniper rifle can one shot them through most walls one by one. Awesome at first, then it becomes an easy exploit to handle most areas. Driving feels ok but it would be nice to have a mechanic where you can shoot freely from the car. I could go on, but almost all other aspects of this game feels bad to ok at best.
The Ugly: The bugs. Way too many immersion and game breaking ones to mention.
The worldbuilding in this game is second to none, Night City feels vast and intoxicating, and the character design is excellent too.
This is all ruined by the large, yellow, pulsating quest marker which never leaves your field of view, and can't be disabled in the HUD options.
It breaks all immersion, which is crazy considering how much work has clearly gone into making Night City what it is. There's already a quest marker on the minimap, that's perfectly fine for most people. Please give an option to remove the yellow floater.
The game is still buggy and has its problems, CDPR still has a long way to finish this, I have an RTX 3070 and a Ryzen 3600 with 16gb of ram at 3600mhz CL16 so it's not a hardware problem but still i have problems of performance on this game, i can't believe it, a lot of frame drops and unconsistent frame rate, this is not acceptable from a game that was released more than a year ago, they have to still fix this thing, and not to mention bugs were NPCs walk through the walls randomly and behave as broken robots instead of normal NPC, they look like NPCs from Skyrim, a game that was released on 2011 lol, they didn't deliver their promisses of releasing the big update on December and still delayed it until 2022, there are a lot of promisses CDPR have not fullfil and as I see this things, this game is not going to be playeable until 2023 or 2024 a least as CDPR promissed years ago it was going to be from release.
if this things and problems i described change on the near future I will come back and change this review.
How does a motorcycle have a turn radius of an 18 wheeler? I played on Hard, but you're dead in 2 shots; so I switched to normal and it's about 4 shots. The cover system leaves your head out; so you will get shot despite cover. When I was riding with Vex his head kept twitching. On the starting quest my HUD disappeared and I had to close the game to get it back. I killed a criminal and they dropped an assault rifle that was halfway through the floor. Highlighting it the gun description flickered on and off. I was unable to pick up the gun. All this in only the first hour of gameplay.
This is still a beta build.
