Minimum Requirements?

When the requirements for Cyberpunk 2077 were announced, I was happy and relieved to see that my PC should still be able to handle the game - albeit on low settings -, since my hardware was within or slightly above the minimum requirements. However, the only thing the game does since launch day is crash to desktop as soon as I hit "play" on GoG. Here are the things I've tried to do the last couple of days: - disable Overlay in GoG Galaxy settings - updated my AMD Drivers - since that didn't work, clean reinstall for all Drivers - checked for Win 10 Updates - installed the Patches (as of now, Hotfix 1.04) - ran Verify/Repair (multiple times) - completely de- and reinstalled the Game (multiple times) - disabled all so-called non-essential applications - tried to force the .exe as Administrator with GoG Galaxy not running - performed a clean boot and tried to run the game that way - ...and combinations thereof As of now, I cannot tell if I will ever be able to play this game without completely upgrading my PC (which is only going to happen sometime next year), and I feel ripped off for trusting the official requirements - especially in light of the embargo CDPR put on reviews pre-launch. Given the amount of bugs a lot of people struggle with, I can only suspect that even if I got the game to start, it might still be completely unplayable. So at the moment I'd advice anyone who's PC is below the "recommended" requirements to hold off buying the game. Right now it's just not worth the time, effort, money and heartache. There might be a patch in the future that fixes this mess. But a possible, hopefully eventually existing patch sometime down the line - days, weeks, months? - can not be a criterion for buying a game in this state. [I will update this review should the game become playable at some point in time.]

Cyberbugs 77

I think this game is the most unplayable released game I've played so far in my 29 years on this planet.

Fair Review

I finshed the game (55hr) and this is my review of the game. Now I am going to give the game a fair review but I am going to critize their malicious intend on the overhypeness which they help spread and didn't deliver. I didn't spoil myself much over this game, after completing the witcher 3 (all content) I was happy with CDPR and was expecting a high quality game (don't judge me with "overhyping" as I am one of their fans overall happy with the quality of Witcher 3, for me cyberpunk was a must buy regardless of "overhypness"). I was surprised when Keanu Reeves hit the stage on that E3 and was "worrying" about the direction of the game, but I decided not again to spoil myself. In conclusion, my perspective of the game is of one that is not a fan of cyberpunk or the actor but of CDPR because of how good the witcher was, I got what I was expecting, a heavy story driven game with open world elements. The good -It's heavy story driven -eye candy (graphics) In conclusion: must buy if you are a person who loves story driven games but on GOG The bad -It's buggy -They didn't deliever everything they promised (I don't really care but others do) -content is inferior to witcher 3 (no armour sets your character will look goofy for stats) -lacklaster character customization (really dissapointed) -the actor (I don't hate him, just that I imagine their budget greatly went to him and hiring celebs is always bad) In conclusion: The game is far from done and CDPR has lost a great amount of credability The Ugly -The overhypness Instead of telling the truth CDPR went ahead with the typical corpo strat (ironic). Do I recommend the game? For sure if you like story driven games, otherwise wait for a sale or buy it here on GOG. Dark days ahead...

Great Narrative but flawed

I can honestly say that from a story telling perspective the game is great. The environment of night city is fantastic and I enjoy the lore of the game. I have some major gripes however that mainly come down to the game feeling rushed. I will list my main issues below in the hope that these are improved over time: 1, The bugs. Ive had crashes to desktop, Broken quests that require reloading, graphical glitches. The list goes on... 2, The world feels shallow outside of the main quests. There are shops that you can purchase from but there is no way of using the items from them, The police are useless and are stationary throughout the city. There is plenty to explore but it lacks substence like the witcher series did. Its a bit depressing really and one of the main things I hope they fix. The lack of a Gwent replacement is dissapointing - I really thought that CDPR would have done better. 3, Customisation. Lots was promised but this wasn't delivered. There is no way to change your appearance past the start of the game and little things like buying your own place or modding your car dont exist. Body mods are also not visual. If I wanted to replace my arm or make myself chrome it should have been put in the game as it was kinda implied in the marketing. 4, Relationships in this game need fleshed out. You have one romance choice for your sexual orientation for a game that was marketed for its open choices. Once you have completed the romance or relationship quests the interactions feel hollow with few dialogue options. This breaks immersion completely. Designing your own genitals is also a gimmick as you dont see them again.... I completed the Panam questline and at the end of it there is one dialogue option... It feels rushed. GTAIV comes to mind for this. Although the bowling was annoying it was nice to spend time with characters outside of questlines. 5, Annoying controls. There is no jeybind for walking... I mean come on.

Like a movie set...

...this game is basically just a facade. The TLDR: the only thing that's keeping me playing it is that A) I just spent $60 on it, and B) the graphics are beautiful on an RTX 3070. So far the main storyline seems pretty interesting so I'll give it that as well. I was excited when the prologue ended and decided I'd jump right in to exploring the city and its characters. So my phone starts blowing up, one after another every character in the game is calling me up, "Hey kid...heh heh...I'm the boss around here, come see me." I'm like OK maybe I'll go check tha- another call, "Come see me." How did they all get my number? Who are these people? Really couldn't let me organically meet these characters without filling my quest log to the brim? So I decide to just ride around the city, and I realize this is barely an open world game. The NPCs are all brain dead, completely on rails. It's hilariously un-immersive. The Police spawn right behind you, probably because the pathfinding system must have been axed. Something GTA3 had in 2001. And for a game about body mods in a city that apparently cares so much about how you look, you'd think you could do something as basic as get a haircut. Or expand on body mods beyond buying it from a vendor like it's a cheeseburger. Instead, here I am running around in booty shorts looking like an idiot. Probably the best part of the game so far are all of the great bug memes. I could go on and on, but for someone who's played every Witcher game since the 1st one I'm shocked at how bad this game really is compared to their previous work.
