The game is great but it was released with a lot of bugs and even patch of first day nothing change (and other patches).
What we have in game:
- Good story
- A lot of details
- New world that we never saw before
- Interesting side quests
The problems:
- Bugs with textures/shapes
- Bugs objects (collision)
- AI is not a bug, there is no AI in the game) A lot of problem with NPC, Police
- Problems with local saves (max size 8192kb)
- Animations
- In some places you can't pickup loots
If you want to play in this game without bugs, just wait 2-3 month
Broken game, broken promises, disappointment.
Half of the things showed during lives and gameplay do not exist.
AI is embarassing, the rest of the product is so full of bugs it looks like something from 1995.
This is not an AAA production, promised to change the open world system and RPG and such and delivered nothing at all.
It's missing so many "default" rpg and open world features it looks I wonder how it got even released.
I have already started my 2nd run of the game. I love the story and side missions but the bugs make it hard to keep playing this game. Not only that but what's up with the cops just showing up right next to me are they not able to drive in or something. There are so many other big issues but a new one that needs to be fixed ASAP is the corrupt your save files if you loot too much & file size exceeds 8MB.
Being lucky enough to have stable performance without any crashes or freezes I've still encountered a lot of technical issues. Plethora of immersion-breaking bugs like character rubber-banding while running or stealthing, not being able to pick up items, getting stuck behind doors that won't open, randomly dying because collided with world geometry, audio bugs are just the tip of the iceberg.
A lot of these can be ironed out with patches, but some features are just poorly implemented. Lifepaths do much to immerse you in the world but after 30 minutes and a abrupt cuscene showing what I assume is cut content they all converge on the same spot in the story. There is no point to police or wanted levels, no reputation system or faction related tasks/vendors which makes interaction with various gangs in the city boil down to simple firefights. Loot system is a mess nad inventory managment unwieldy. No changing your character appearence post-creation; no different hairstlyes, tattoos, visible cyberware (apart from story related ones) or any sort of transmog leaving your character a walking fashion disaster. And this in a game whose tabletop version had a dedicated Wardrobe and Style skill. There are 15-20 year old open world games that handled this better.
Despite all that i listed above, much of my 50 hours spent in-game were spent enjoying things that were fun. Characters and voice-acting are top-notch, storyline immersive, music amazing, and graphically it's gonna be a benchmark for all future GPUs.
There's a potential for a great game here, it's just a shame it's marred by so many issues that they can't be summarized in 2000-character review. Developers didn't do it any favors with obscuring facts, shady review practices and embargos and what in my opinion seems like a profoud lack of direction; like they simply didn't know what they wanted to make and had no time to implement it all. CD Projekt Red has their work cut out for them and a lot of redeeming to do.
Gonna start with something good.
I loved the witcher games. Witcher 3 is my favorite game of all time.
In Cyberpunk 2077 I have seen about 100+ bugs/glitches and had several gamebreaking ones, on the PC version (pre 1.05).
The enemy AI is the worst I have experienced in a long time... don't get me started on the police spawning in 2 secs when u accidently hit a civilian...
Still the game is good and i cant stop playing it because of the story.
I wouldnt call it a RPG, because it lacks alot of RPG elements.. or they are there but it's not really enough. You can't customise "V" during ur time in game. No barbershops where you can change hair/beard if you feel your character has taken a new route which doesnt fit the current looks etc.
You can't choose how your apartment looks, which is something big for many playing this game.
There is no real reason to have an appartment tbh...
I am CERTAIN that they will fix the game, within a year or so.
CDPR.. please make this right.
