I am really sad to give this rating...

The game itself, meaning story and gameplay is good and could be much fun BUT the technical state of the game is just abysmal. The game is poorly optimized and bugged. It is simply unfinished and should have NEVER been released in this state. The recommended system requirements are an absolute joke, the game runs very poorly even tho i have a better system then recommended, it cant get a stable 60 fps on 1080p and low to medium settings. You cant play for 10 min without comming across a bug. I really would like to give this game a good rating but i can not recommend it to anyone in its current state, except people with NASA pc´s that dont mind playing a unfinished beta. I was so hyped for this game, it was the first game ever i preordered. Well thats a lesson for me to never preorder again.

A Disappointment

Performance is.. non-existent. I'll just write down some random stuff: - I love netrunning and infiltrating a building - Dialogue sometimes doesnt play(forced to reload) - There is no AI for cars, the npcs just float along a predetermined path, cutscene driving feels like the skyrim intro cart ride to give you an idea - Item comparisons in inventory sometimes compare wrong items - the Lifepaths are an illusion, they do not change the game at all, they essentially are just 3 styles of pre-prologue - not an RPG as advertised, V is the V cdpr wants him to be, your clicking barely makes a difference. - cant say much about the gunplay as 25fps make it hard to begin with - character creation is totally meaningless unless you use an immersion breaking photomode which is entirely optional - character customization does not include any adjustments to the body type, Nose, Ears, Eyes, Mouth, thats it, the rest is on top - there is an option to add genitals to your character, you will never see any of that outside of the inventory screen - Scanner is a cool thing as it also slows down time in some scenarios, but it just blurs the already blurred imagine even more making it hard to see what you're even looking at - you cannot reliably use the scanners zoom because zoom and choosing a quickhack is on the same controls(mousewheel) - arcades are purely cosmetic, no minigames - during brawls NPCs will immersionbreakingly teleport up to 2m meters to make a miss connect anyways - 95% of the skilltree is just "deal 5% more dmg while 'generic condition' is met" - driving needs a lot of getting used to but even if you get the hang of it, it doesnt feel great - no car customizations at all - your vehicles are just spawned in whenever you need them, no garage to view all owned - apartment is meaningless, no reason to return to your home despite it being a cool place - the shops for weapons and armor feel meaningless - map is actually pretty small

The game treats me like an idiot

This is not a game I had been expecting. I expected a revolution in open world gameplay and what I got was not even an evolution. There is a potential but so far it's been missing. The game tries to feel like a next-gen experience, but in reality it's very old-gen. I stopped playing the game entirely (RTX 3070, everything ultra, 1440p) because I am offended by: - the stupid/boring side quest system - the horrible AI - tons of visual bugs - the horrible in-game map - the game's missing potential to be exceptional I actually dont mind frame drops at all, yeah it's annoying but...the game treats me like if I was an idiot. VentureBeat is right - Cyberpunk 2077 is a map game. This level of immersion and map quality is expected from Ubisoft, not from you guys. I had expected more than just looking at the map and walking towards exclamation marks. This city is not living, the city is actually static. Where are those thousands of people with their routines like you had claimed it would be? There's nothing like this in the game. Geez the cops next to my room had been knocking on the same door for 3 days! On the street there are two cops standing there maybe for a week. The people on the streets really do nothing, they just randomly walk, they randomly appear and also randomly disappear. Yeah I also experienced this when I ran over a pedestrian and a cop appeared out of nowhere and started to shoot at me. This is Cyberpunk 2077 goddamit! It was supposed to be revolutionary! Why does it have to be played like every other open world game? You did The Witcher 3, an open world game with the best design of the world and quests! Why did not you evolve what you had started with The Witcher 3 into a perfection?

Underwhelming & disappointing-Not an RPG

After playing the game for over 100h, I can't but feel...cheated. I think that if CDPR would have launched the game on the 10th of Dec as an Early Access build, they would have saved themselves a lot of well deserved headacke. PROs: -Awesome city & great architecture with great potential (although is mostly potential, with not much realized yet) -Great cast of characters with a good, but not great, story -Great voice acting -Cyberpunk...altough this is not something that CDPR created, i'll consider it a win :)) CONS: - Unfinished in its technical, design and physics aspects, which if you search for comparison videos online, you'll see exactly what I mean. Ffs, this game doesn't even have effects for bullets hitting the water. -Bugs are legion -Not an RPG -Story is on rails -Choices don't matter -The loot/gearing system is in conflict with your ability to customize your character -The police system is infuriating and should have been reason enough not to launch this game yet -The perk system is a joke & unbalanced. Most of the "skills" are % multipliers, so everyhing goes out of control once you start stacking some modifiers -Cars feel like they are floating for the most part. Some of the worst car driving mechanics I've ever had the displeasure of playing with, -Horrible, down right atrocious AI. I would have never expected this from an "Nex-Gen" title or CDPR. -Map is full of boaring "events", that are meaningless. -Factions don't matter. Any enemy is pretty much the same as the rest. -There is no reputation system -The Cyberware system is lackluster and is a huge missed opportunity. -No-brainer Quality of Life Features are missing or poorly implemented I could go on and on, but it's not worth the effort, just like this game is not worth your money. Maybe wait for a sale or some patches, although I don't really know if they can fix a lot if this stuff. Very dissapointed in you CDPR! And in myself for pre-ordering. It will not happend again.

What could have been...

Beautiful city...if only there weren't missing textures, places you move to only to fall through map etc. Lots of NPC...if only they had any purpose and has any semblance of AI. Cops...if only they didn't teleport behind you anywhere you are. Indoors, roofs, cabinet. They're behind you. Quests...if only there was something more than "go to X and shoot dudes" Cars...if only they had weight so they don't bounce around like on a trampoline. After 89h inside of this game and finished main story, I want to go back and replay it again. Except I won't, because there's no reason to. This game promised so many things, too many if you ask me, and then failed to deliver even the most basic ones. Gone are the days of Witcher where you talked to NPC, got quest, explored, then made your decision how to end quest. Outside of main story this game has only 1 quest: Shooting people. There are some 3-4 side quests with actual story, the rest exists just to pad runtime. Not like you need to do side quests. Heck, you're better off not doing them since if you level up, even on hardest difficulty, final fight can be done in 1 shot. Yes, you read it right, 1 shot. I've seen bikes riding on top of persons head, I've seen NPCs fall through map during missions, I've ran into building like a maniac, shooting everyone I can see...then gotten bonus reward for doing mission quietly. This game could have been so much more, could have been one of the best. Instead, it's a broken mess barely worth your time. Get it in 6 months when it's fixed.
