There's Potential, I Guess...

I don't dislike the gameplay. Honestly it's the only thing in this game that doesn't bore me to death. I get there's supposed to be a story and story development and whatnot, but the whole sad story, sad protagnist, anti-hero BS is so cliche at this point. Also, random, but if the illustrious Johnny Silverhand in V's head was about to be fried by the EMP that Panam and V set off, then why couldn't I just sit there and let Johnny's engram get fried. No more engram trying to overwrite V's neural network, and supposedly V won't die because the chip wasn't forcibly removed from their head. Seems like a massive story oversight. I've got the hardware to run this game on ultra, no problem, according to the recommended chart at least. So why even after patch 1.06 does it take character models and vehicles 30 seconds to load in at the proper resolution? Haven't experienced too many bugs, but the one that I did notice was the random exploding. Basically I would be in the middle of something important, and V would explode. No reason for it and has happened outside of combat. The fix? Adjusting the difficulty slider. WHAT?!?!?! I don't hate this game, at all, I've logged over 200 hours in it. But after that long just running around doing jobs, because I avoid the story like the plague after the Heist. You really start to notice just how much was left out or cut, and if I have to pay for DLC to add in stuff that was meant to be in the game from the get go, I am going to be absolutely livid.

Shallow, Buggy, and Disappointing

When I think about my time spent in Cyberpunk 2077, I reminisce not about the great times i've had, but of the bugs and corrupted save files that pummeled me along the way. The game is a mess from a technical standpoint, with everything from framerate issues to bugs that are at best immersion breaking, but its issues are not simply from a seeming lack of QA testing. The majority of the quests and activities feel like busy work, the weapon "variety" is simple reskins of the same models over and over again, the vehicles aren't terribly satisfying to drive, and the skills/perks feel like an afterthought thrown in only to appease anyone who might have wanted to play an RPG. It's a very shallow experience when all is said and done. There is charm to be found here amongst the heaps of refuse, if you intend to dig around for 80ish hours like I have. The vocal performances are stellar, some of the weapons are fun to use, there are bits and pieces of the story that are a blast to take part in, some of the characters are extremely enjoyable to interact with, and Night City looks pretty stellar. When everything works how it is supposed to, there are some things here to like, but that's just it. Rarely does everything work how it is supposed to. I fear that even if/when all the bugs and technical errors are addressed, this game will still be an altogether forgettable experience. Its issues run much deeper than bugs. There is so much that feels like it has been left out or ignored. The lack of player choice, awful stealth mechanics, lack of non-lethal combat options, shallow interaction with characters, and a world that doesn't truly feel 'alive' are only a few of the deep rooted issues with this game. These are things that won't be fixed with a simple patch. When all is said and done, I am left with no feelings of satisfaction as I close out Cyberpunk 2077. I'm left only with feelings of disappointment and a longing for what could have been.

Unfinished, buggy, and kinda boring

Despite Adam Badowski's insistence on trumpeting this game's 9/10 and 10/10 reviews on PC, the simple fact of the matter is that the PC version of this game is also an embarassment. The bugs are unreal and even beyond the features that have been cut from the game it's blatantly unfinished. You can buy dozens of different cars but there are only 4 racing missions in the entire game. When you start to outpace the competition they are dragged behind you as if attached by invisible cables, tumbling along sideways and crashing into things. Police "behaviour" is limited to spawning in behind you after you've committed a crime and if you try to fight back the game very quickly spawns elite cops that just one-shot you. The crafting system is also a joke, and with the right upgrades you're somehow able to recycle items and get back more components than it takes to craft them. Of course, you can't exploit that too much as if you fill up your inventory too much, you would also inflate your save file to the point it got corrupted. Some characters and quests are fun and well written, but the vast majority of this game is samey, boring and broken. Some advice for Adam and the executives at CD Projekt: stop wasting your time picking fights with Schreier and trying to make out that your game isn't a turd. Shut your mouth and get to working fixing the goddamn game.

Dissapointing

It had so much potential, it looked so freaking good, every development update got the hype so high. And then, we get this, pretty much nothing of what it was promised. It looks good (on PC) but it's just so boring in every other aspect.

Worse than fo76 :D

This game is garbage even if you ignore the bugs and the horrible driving mechanics and the crayon eating ai.
