We got screwed when prepurchasing

Honestly I liked the game despite being ridiculously overpriced for what we received. But now I'm pissed! The very first major update alienates a guesstimate of approximately 75% of the people who bought this game. The sudden change to min requirements literally makes this game unplayable on the "average" machine in use when it was released. Mine included. In a time where the entire world is teetering on the edge of an economic depression like none ever seen before, these devs expect more then 50% of the userbase to rush out and buy new hardware just to play a game they ALREADY BOUGHT AND PAID FOR only 2 years after initial release. I doubt this review will stay up long (if at all) so i'm going to ss it and spread the post around as soon as it is taken down. Essentially its "thanks for your money but we are moving on" Yes the game still allows for the download and install (offline only) of what is laughingly tagged "legacy" version ... but there is NO support NO development and NO fixes for the myriad of game breaking bugs and glitches on the legacy version. No announcements about continued support and in fact blatantly telling us to go F ourselves. Support requests will be auto-ignored if our current system doesn't meet the new arbitrary requirements. I thought we were trying NOT to add to waste/landfill. WTF do you think happens to the electronics/computers that get replaced? 150$ for 2 years of access and support. Goodbye GoG developments. I will not be purchasing any inhouse products from you anymore. In fact It is time to look for a way to move everything I own on GoG to a real launcher and lose galaxy too since in over 2 years they still have not fixed the patching bug that makes a 1 GB patch take 10-20 hours to install ...

8 Years for 3/5 Star Game

So, 23 hours in and Finished the Main Story Line, I did most of the side quest and gigs. If you only do Main Story, like from A to B it is even less than 20 hours, A shame, because it feels like a lot of content has been cut from the beginning "Acts". A lot of montages which I am 100% certain were supposed to be well planed missions and interactions are just montages of you going through motions. Spent good 30 mintues in game to make my character when I first started and the character creator is really mediocre, I just said fuck it because in the end it is FPS and it won't even matter. Also can't change your hairstyle in 2077? WOW oh boy I am so glad I won't live to see 2077. Final Verdict 7/10 - It's a game.

Not as expected

Open world, looter shooter. Remindes me of Borderlands. Kill a dude, get a gun upgrade. RPG elements all over the place. After 8 hours of playing, I still don't understand anything about crafting or upgrading your gear. I found out how to change my armor/clothes accidentally. Stealth was useless, enemies saw me in the next room while I was crouched and not moving. Hacking was either useless or so confusing as to what I was supposed to do, I gave up on it. Found running up to and enemy and shooting them point blank to be the best way to play this game. Now to the plot. I felt like I was being led by the nose through the story. My first impression was Saints Row's quest progression was used. One linear main quest, and a bunch of filler quests to pad the play time. My choices made no difference as far as I could tell.

Game needed to be delayed further

I think this game could be really great. The problem is it crashes to desktop every few minutes. I can't get in a car without it crashing. It crashes while I walk around. PC specs: ryzen 3800x, 5700xt, 16gb ram, 1tb nvme drive. All my other games work just fine.

Consolified.

The controls are truly some of the worst I've ever had to play with. Some things, which would have been just perfect with a MOUSE to press buttons, are just ruined by needing to press ESC. Some menus require pressing ESC on your keyboard to exit? Obviously just a one to one mapping with a console control scheme. Why is there not a back button I can press? The UI design generally is AWFUL. The controls are just terrible console crap, and was not designed with the PC in mind, which really is the biggest disgrace of all. The bugs, are out of control. I legitimately considered refunding this game due to the insane amount of bugs (literally every 2-3 minutes gameplay, I notice a bug. (Missing prefabs, UI rendering issues, AI behaviour, missing animations, wonky textures, collision problems, control problems) Fundamentally these problems are because everything occurs in the same game loop. Having a dialogue menu appear dynamically when you approach someone, sure is immersive, but if i'm trying to pick up an item near them, I simply CANNOT do it. It also creates annoyances like I'm trying to access a computer so I have to tap in a sequence of 15 key presses just to get him to sit down and use the computer. You should have put everything into seperate game loops/sequences. If I go to a container - open and menu, pause the game and show me the contents. That way, I'm way more invested in the contents of the container rather than just blindly picking everything up in the environment and sorting it out later. When I'm talking to someone, pause the game and let me talk with them - this way you can have longer and more meaningful dialogue and you don't have to worry about all the design constraints surrounding talking to someone while the entire game is happening at the same time. These design problems were figured out in the late 90s early 2000's. It's hubris. However, I do give a star for the level design.
