After a few hours, you realize how incredibly shallow the game is.
The arguments that Cyberpunk attempts to make end up falling flat when it makes the same mistakes it attempts to criticize.
You walked directly into the rake you were making fun of, CDPR.
This is the biggest story of two halves I've ever played, it's a great shame. The soundtrack, cityscape, atmosphere and aesthetics all invite you to believe that this is a fantastic game. But it has such deep flaws. The dialogue is almost arcade like, V feels like an empty shell with no connection to Night City, combat is unbalanced.
But the major issue is the sandbox narrative, they designed the game so that you can play any mission at any time, while peppering it with monologues from Johnny about the corpos stealing your soul mann. The result is a very unsettling story where V has the same dilemma at Hour 10 as they do on Hour 100, has the same philosophical depth to her arguments with Johnny and reacts exactly the same way. TERRIBLE. These are the guys who designed Witcher 3 which dealt with the sandbox narrative acceptably enough by maintaining coherent seperate quest lines without the damn genie in the bottle delivering "the thesis" every ten minutes.
2.0
Gear - shit.
Gear pieves doesn't matter anymore. Now they don't provide any armour and slots for modifiers.
Now they just for fashion.
Weapons - shit.
Weapons now have only 5 lvls instead of 50. So my 5lvl handgun dmg is 30, 1lvl handgun 20.So weapons doesn't matter now.... May be they want force now everyone play with katanas, axes, blunt weapons i don't understand.
Electromagnetic gun i used now have note "can't hit through walls" :D :D :D WTF??
Fights - shit.
Fights now looks like basketball with grenades. NPCs just spam grenades on you all the time.
Abilities - shit.
Now you can lvl only 5 abilities instead of 12.
Build freedom - shit.
You can't now make playstyle of your choice by investing in talents and make your build stronger. Talents now provide some shit that add mechanics that you may not want and you can't avoid that.
NPC - shit.
NPC enemies are same lvl as you, so when leveling you dont progress, you just start kill same mobs but different.
Game progress - shit.
You can complete first mission and go with 7lvl "V" to pacifica and kill NPCs there because of lvl scalling. You lose that track of progressing through the city street by street, Kabuki - Wotson - ....
So you don't progress in game, you just hunging around there.I don't understand, CD Project Red ditn't do that to The Witcher, why they do this shit to Cyberpunk 2077...
Now you can pull gun while driving - thats only cool thing they did.
Patch 2.0 killed Cyberpunk 2077. I hope there will be Mods to make it to previous patch with new story plot.
The story is awesome, side story are as good as the main story, i played Cyberpunk since the launch (over 900h of play), and the game always evolved in the "better way", i have rated this game 5 star previously...
Until now...
I have bought Phantom liberty DLC and i am now in 2.0.
The new NCPD IA is a great add and was missing in the original game, same with the new cyber config that make it more like the paper game, great work on that point.
But why on earth have you changed the crafting?
Now it is a total mess:
-No more update of your favorite weapon
-Pass hours farming things to disassemble to get material (like in the video game from last century/millenium).
-No more outfit upgrade and custom
-Totaly unclear instruction on how it work in 2.0
Despite the crafting were a nice thing in previous version and i enjoyed it
It would have been wiser to totaly remove crafting than let it this way: Right now it is a huge boring point in Cyberpunk 2077, and bring only bad feeling.
Or think again about how to make it fun again (as it was a nice before).
2nd bad point the "auto targetting system":
It was used to be precise, but now even at 2m from the target you can have near none bullet that hit your target...
So now i will only use regular gun :(
So for me Cyberpunk is rated 2,5 star now, i hope Phantom liberty will make me add more star, but for now it is rated this way.
3 years later and this new 2.0/DLC update is still full of bugs and game crashes to desktop. So happy I didn't buy Phantom Liberty since I can't currently even get the base game to run without crashing.
