I FEEL SORRY FOR MIKE PONDSMITH
First off, the good that made it worth it (and could lure me back):
An amazing and well-built world, gripping main storyline, combined with a good quality and abundance of side stories. The level of detail is also pretty amazing and in some parts, a lot of humor and good spirits shine through.
The bad - cringeworthy but may be overlooked:
The almost schizophrenic disconnect between the main storyline and the sidequests/stories.
The slew of entirely forgettable NPC's, and lack of interaction.
The complete overdose of texts/shards - I think I may have read shorter books (still, points for trying to get us to read).
The (feeling of) having absolutely no impact on the world whatsoever, (complete a questline, all NPC's etc reset into their default pre quest behavior).
Invisible walls and completely random instant deaths.
The character creation feels a bit forced/superficial in general and in particular the 'life paths' feel just slapped on and of no consequence at all (not what you'd expect in an RPG). The unique quests are fun, but it's a missed opportunity.
The ugly - what ultimately convinced me to not replay this game for the time being:
The driving feels, at best, as a 2000-2005 era racing game (and other traffic is just plain bad). The police mechanic is just outright broken. Stealth is a combination of OP and laughable, while the enemy AI really fails to deliver.
And finally, the worst of it: almost no RPG elements, no RPG feeling and the world just feels dead, amazingly pretty, but dead. now, I know it's a game in which I'm litterally supposed to just waltz around like a good little desktop warrior and kill ragdolls, but no need to make it that obvious.
Ultimately, the game did do what it was supposed to do: I had a lot of fun with it, but it really has issues - 3 stars.
tldr: mediocre game, wouldn't replay, had fun nonetheless.
Great graphics for this game. Beyond this I found the game to be undone. So many features are missing (depsite what was said recently at the end they scammed most of us).
1. Not an RPG, your choices do not matter (contrast to what was stated in the demo)
2. Mutlitude of features where removed or was never intended of been added to the game city (you can refernce demo for this and compare this for yourself).
3. City is pretty much a dead city, no interactions, same lines, AI is worthless (Indie games have done a better job), glitches-galore
What gets me is Badowski clams that is what the water mark is for - I am sorry that is just BS. Badowski you think gamers are stupid and worse you justifed it with by saying this what the water mark is for. You are nothing more than a charlatan. I purchased your PC game as preoder (which I never do) and collectors edition (PS4) based you on YOUR DEMO and good faith.
Its not really a bad game but its nowhere near finished CDPR lied to us and its not what we were promised this isnt an RPG its a first person shooter with RPG ellements and the Open World is a joke and doesn't even come close to what Rockstar acomplished in GTA IV back in 2009 and is nowhere near what we were promised. This was easily the most anticipated game for me ever and I was even half joking to my friends that I'd basically exclusively play it after release until I beat it like 3 times and now even a month after release I haven't beaten it once since I have no will to, this isn't the game I wanted and was promised and the bugs and terrible performance make me want to play it even less, and I have a 1060 6GB I can't imagine what playing it on lower specs would be like let alone the millions of console users they screwed over which clearl y wasn't a mistake and was just a lack of caring. This shows CDPR's executives don't care, this company lost every ounce of good will I had for it after The Witcher 3 and I really hope overworking all they're employees was worth it, so they could just betray they're fans and release a unfinished subpar game.
