Yeah there are bugs, but this is one of the best games I have ever played. My rig is pretty solid, I get that, but this is my hobby and I am not going to be made to feel bad because I haven't been having as many problems as others.
2080 Super, 64gb of ram. I'm in a good place. I am hoping with patches etc, which i fully expect this team will provide, that others will be able to play and enjoy this story as much as I have. Seriously at oone point you play through an event I remember reading in the sidebars of the original Cyberpunk RPG book.
Thank you Ral Talsorian for giving us this world, and thank you CDPR for providing it to us in all of it's imperfect glory. Can't wait to make this one a 5/5
I am so thoroughly enjoying this game! Running around a city where everybody actually looks different? Awesome! Coming up on a bunch of weapon toting gorilla macho dudes and wiping them all out by hacking their implants? Awesome! Didn't even draw my weapons. It is glorious. The ads and the overall atmosphere? Amazing! Hack the camera system and take the enemies down without even running about. I love it!
Drawbacks: driving is rough, it's tough to see. Get a bike as soon as you can; it's so much better. I do wish the driving controls were analog, but I got used to it over time. The writing is a little harsh, at least I feel it is while playing as a male V. It's a little too toxic masculine. It can be a little glitchy, but I play on PC, and it's been fine. Much better than a Bethesda release. I love their games, but they are so buggy from the start it's hard to play. You can really see the effort that went into the depth of atmosphere. Ads that change over time, a seriously different feel to each neighborhood, and TV that's interesting to watch with news and hilarious ads.
I have only been kicked out of the game once from a bug. Bound to happen with a new release. Once I found I couldn't draw a weapon and had to look online for a fix. Visit a Joytoy and it clears it right up. There's probably a joke or some insight into the character there.
Overall, I recommend this game to people who can realize that new games have bugs, and want to experience a first person cyberpunk game. I'm a big fan of Shadowrun, but I really prefer the first person perspective.
I was hyped, I wanted this game because of the way it was sold to me. But what I got at the end, was just another generic AAA game, nothing spectacular. The only really solid thing maybe even spectacular about this game is the story and scenery. But still you get immersed into the game, into the atmosphere only to be taken out by bugs and silly AI.
The thing is, this game can be so much more if the developers and publishers invest more into it's development. Right now, after you finish the main storyline and some side quests, all you are left with is an empty city with not much more to do.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that I have been following and looking forward to since CD Projekt Red announced its development years ago especially since the announcement came from the developers of an acclaimed and successful fantasy action RPG series, The Witcher. What struck me most about the announcement and development of Cyberpunk 2077 was the potential of a game with a powerful mix of elements that I found very attractive and interesting.
I like the dystopian and cyberpunk atmosphere, setting, and plot, as I am a fan of the dystopian plots even in books, and the possibilities for philosophical reflection they offer about our current real-world and our current and future life paths strongly based on technology. As a lover of first-person shooters and RPG games, the possibility of enjoying the previous elements from this perspective was another point that undoubtedly has made me enjoy it.
In my opinion, the game complies enough with all the elements above, and visually it looks amazing in almost every Night City location I’ve seen. Therefore, the game meets all my expectations despite some RPG aspects that might be potentiated, like a higher variety of NPC conversations and interaction with them, more freedom and variety for daily activities outside the main missions or secondary plots, and some technical and optimization flaws. The game’s main flaw is probably a poor and very basic NPC AI.
Overall, I consider Cyberpunk 2077 a great game. I’m really enjoying it, and visually and graphically it is a blast, despite some glitches here and there. That said, I was quite disappointed with the level of performance optimization, gameplay bugs, and graphics glitches it showed on day one. Fortunately, the developer team is fixing many of those issues through patches.
I think it might sound insane to give 5 stars to Cyberpunk given the backlash and outrage present in social media, but listen me out.
I entered the game without following all the hype the marketing team created and the false promises that were made, so I expected the good traits of The Witcher 3 to be present in this game aswell.
And the game delivers exceptionally in all the aspects that I care about: interesting story with different outcomes in the sense that every one of them makes you think about different aspects of life, compelling characters that aren't easily forgettable, an amazingly crafted world and scenery (although with only scripted activities) and good OST. They nailed it with every single one of the above.
I didn't expect the combat to be very interesting, but it's quite diverse and some builds are actually really fucking fun. In my opinion it's better than the one of The Witcher 3 but still not balanced, they can never seem to get that right. The game becomes very easy even on the hardest difficulty if you have a good build. The voice acting is also amazing, but I think female V is better than the male version.
There are glitches, and bugs, and there are no activities outside of scripted main jobs, side gigs and NCPD scans as of date, but I'm guessing they'll keep updating the game and keep adding new ways to spend time in the world. The people at CDPR care about their Witcher franchise and I'm pretty sure they will take good care of this one too, even if they launch was subpar at best.
But seriously, the side characters you find during the game are top fucking notch, you really do get involved with their stories and they can play an important role depending on the ending you choose.
What I'm trying to convey is, if you're looking for an open world to waste time on à la GTA you're not going to like this game, but if you're looking for a powerful story full of emotions and remarkable characters in a well crafted world, this is a fantastic game.
