Honestly one of CDPR's worst game when it comes to quest design and gameplay. Repetitive mission structure and boring protagonist make this feel like a Ubisoft AC game.
"Whoa! Cyberpunk 2077 has flatlined" wasn't funny the first time and gets even less funny when the game crashes every 5 minutes.
At the moment this game is unplayable, to many performance issues and a lot of bugs.
A very disappointing experience.
Terrible optimization, non existing AI, popping textures, visual glitches, FPS sudden cracks, no no-combat/action oriented activities in game, no character customization after the initial screen (it's pretty much one time WYSIWYG). Gangers being bullet/melee dmg sponges, broken crime system where police attacks YOU for fighting gangers and thieves. Finally, non intuitive UI - I couldn't figure out how to open fucking inventory/character screen during first hour, because tutorial forgot to mention about it. And yeah, there is an 'info' about hotkeys, but hidden inside character screen - and since there is no information whatsover in key bindings in main menu, your only chance is to test every single fucking key on the keyboard to locate the one responsible for toggling the appropriate window. The list of issues is long and wide, so I could write about it for an hour. Totally disappointing, 2010-ish gaming experience.
Oh boy CDPR,
Back when Cyberpunk was announced I've nearly jumped out of my pants as the setting is the wet dream of my generation.
At first I was very much saddened when it was announced it will be an FPS/RPG, but I said damn, doing Sword/Sorcery/Fantasy for the Witcher for years must really burn you out and THIS IS CDPR they CAN'T MESS UP anything they touch, so I've pre-ordered (something I'm not doing since ME:Andromeda) and give them a chance with a genre I despise (FPS).
Now while I can't speak for console peasants (just a joke chill), the PC version is also missing something that cuts deep, but it must be said that I've only encountered minor bugs and performance-wise it runs awesome (My rig is top-notch for 2018).
When I started playing it felt awesome, the music, the setting, the voice acting, the first missions... but then all started to fall apart and it became clear that the game lacks the soul that the Witcher series had. Combat is fun at first but becomes repetitive, melee is... damn this game REALLY should've been a TPS (cutting ppl into slices with the katana or the mantis blade Witcher style, WHY NOT CDPR, WHY?).
The RPG elements (I'm not seeing my V like 90% of the time..), cutscenes, characther customisation, meaningful side-missions are all deeply missing. Vehicle driving is a mess, AI is glitchy.
Here I'm going to do a short summary:
TRANSPARENCY CDPR! Even if you'd have delayed the game till next year people would've still trusted you, but this rushed and uncalled for release might have cost your reputation even if you'll fix the game (technical-wise, because it will still lack a soul). Look at Bethesda, Bioware, Blizzard and all other companies where are they now with their politics? Down the drain.. Next time you'll do better I hope.
MUSIC 10/10
GRAPHICS (depending on your rig... could be 10/10 could be 9/10)
STORY 5/10
GAMEPLAY 5/10
Overall, average +AAA game, will not do another playthrough :(
Let's start with the good
11/10 Main and Side Quests, will keep you interested and provide the illusion that this is an open-world game.
10/10 Map Design
8/10 Graphics (couldve been 10 if it ran well on the lowest recommended hardware)
Now we're done with the good of this game, onto the bad:
GAME PHYSICS: bruh open-world games that are more than a decade old is better than this. water physics? car/object deformation? hit npc in the leg and they go down holding their head??
AI: open-world games feel alive because of the small things the AI does, this game has the most mediocre AI I've played, everyone just crouches. Police AI, they dont chase you with their cars or flying cars, they just spawn randomly behind you and leave you once you run for 2 blocks.
CUSTOMIZATION/CHOICES: The game advertised customization and made it to the point that my choices mean anything, guess what, there are absolutely no customization ingame besides what you wear and what you use for combat. ABSOLUTELY nothing else can be customized in this game besides the pre-game. again, games 15+ yrs older than this has more customization features. the game-changing choice that would truly matter is what you pick on the last mission, thats it.
STYLE: seriously, I dont see style having an effect on me this game, I main corpo and I buy/craft legendary corpo suits, nothing happens.
GANGS: like for real? I was expecting to have gang reputations for example maybe a quest from Maelstrom to eliminate a certain 6th Street hideout, would then increase my Maelstrom rep and decrease 6th Street rep. Instead, we were given a linear "Street Cred" also, why are the gangs not moving? I see no interaction or war within them. That certain PS2 game had more gang war/ gang cred in its game.
Don't get me wrong, I love the game, or rather loved the game, right now I have clocked in 110 hours. First 70-80 hours was good, had tons of mission. But after I played it like an open-world did I realize it sucked.
