I personally think that this game doesn't deserve all those negatives reviews. Must be hard optimizing such a detailed game on 7 years old consoles. I'm now at approximately 40 hours into the game and the only bugs I've seen are funny and didn't prevent me from progressing into this awesome game. Would highly recommend this game !
So I have over 80 hours in the game and completed it. The first time I played it, it crashed after creating my character, I downloaded the patch and played but had floating little trees everywhere. I downloaded the new NIVIDIA display drivers and that fixed most of my bugs still have some glitches with floating items and I had one mission that is glitched and couldn't get to work. Overall the game was okay and I realize how hard it is to get a game of this magnitude built from scratch, but I do have some problems with the game. The biggest is the endings, no spoilers but everyone one of them sucks and while the game claims to be an RPG its really not since the endings are not really tied to what you do in the game. You actually pick your ending at the end of the game so whatever you did in the game doesn't matter. I also thought the romance option was lacking also. Each Male or Female V has two romance options one gay and one straight and you really don't interact with them after you have a one night stand with them until the end of the game. Really the entire game seems lonely you have a bunch of people walking the streets but you really don't interact with anyone except for your fixers and then just to get missons. Even the JoyToys are boring its the same persons over and over and yet they make a ton of people on the street as one of a kind. the good news is that if CDPR doesn't fix the game someone else will, I'm seeing a bunch of mods already coming out. I saw one mod that changes the game from first person to third so you can actually see your character.
I've played Cyberpunk from day one and with every patch it's getting better and better. Not only bugs are being splattered under heavy corporate bug hunters boots, but the world feels more alive (not to mention driving cut scenes not being as stiff, like taken from a 90s game). After revealing Keanu Reeves involvement I was looking for a dark, dystopian future, close to Gibson's inspired Johnny Mnemonic, but CP77's world was a pleasant surprise. At first glance it doesn't seem as grim, but as you explore and immerse yourself in the world you bring out it's ugliness. And as you find out, J-Bones words, despite passage of time, are still accurate:
“Treating the disease is far more profitable than curing it.”
In game there are a lot of reference to Johnny Mnemonic, from Ripper dock that looks and have same views as Spider, hearing talks about data curries to mono fiber arm weapon, but it doesn't lack other memorable moments, like CJ's bike chase.
CP77 shines when it comes to story side, it has great plot and excellent side quest that lets you really discover and feel the world around you (for well over 100h).
Combat is excellent, quick, dynamic, no matter whether you prefer to enter with your guns blazing or Hitman's silent assassins style. And that cyberdeck of yours opens up many more possibilities to explore.
Driving is very well done, especially the bike's and feels very natural. Car models are very detailed, you can even see brake lines if you play with the camera angles.
The only thing I don't like is leveled items. Such atrocities should be left for MMOs …
And don't hesitate to increase detail level. On my previous computer the game ran fine on ultra despite ~30-35fps on average. Even in dynamic fights it was perfectly playable (could be part of optimization for older consoles).
Give this game at least 6 hours. At first things like the 'hacking' and inventory systems seem complicated but after you get the the part where Keanu Reeves shows up the story really takes over.
The story line is really good, voice acting is excellent.
The world is large, still has some graphic glitches.
Lots of NPCs with little to interact.
This runs well on a mid level system (GTX 1070, 16 GB, 4 core i5, HD).
