The game is great, but a few tweaks could make it a lot better:
1. Improve the handling of the vehicles. The turning circle is too wide, and you miss your turns
most of the time. Zooming out on the minimap when driving would also be a great addition.
2. Clothes seem to disappear off my character when switching clothing in the inventory.
3. When selling items out of the inventory, the inventory layout seems to reload every time.
First, I did avoid the hype for CDPR making any game having been jaded enough in the past. Having played now 25hrs and barely scratched the main story I can confidently state the CDPR absolutely knocked the world and gunplay out of the park. Meaty guns, awesome weapons, cool cyberware upgrades; all wrapped in the degenerate neon lights of a seedy cyberpunk city. The loot system is great, loots of upgrades and is addictive...I though them leaning towards looter-shooter would have been bad, but I am enjoying it ALOT. The world is damn cool, and for me the side quests and gameplay loop is satisfying. The graphics are AMAZING even on my meager GTX1660 6gb overclocked (I can play everything on high at 1080p hitting 60+ FPS. Its a dream come true game for me as I LOVE the genre; everything from Neuromancer to Deus Ex and Ghost in the Shell.
Let talk about the delays and state of the game. Its bad. This behaves like an early access game. Enemy AI is kinda shit, and the graphics have pop-ins, bugs, clipping, animations being stuck, surfing NPCs, flipping cars going atmospheric. I have heard of game breaking bugs and I dont doubt it, but as of right now I have experienced nothing game breaking. I did have reload one side quest that bugged out the objective item i needed to collect, but the frequent autosaves kept that from being a game ruining event.
The blowback is justified. The delays and 8 years of dev time were not enough it seems...I dont know what happened to CDPR, but I will say they have announced a roadmap as of this review to fix the game on all systems and are issuing refunds and aiding in it if you have a physical copy.
Give the game 6 months and it may be one of the greatest open world shooter experiences ever. Right now its a buggy mess, but is playable and for me at least, VERY FUN. I do love the game. I will change my review once the game is fixed.
Long have I awaited for this game to be released. And it's finally here. I finished the game and I wasn't disappointed. Sure, the game has many bugs and glitches but the story... that is some perfection! Voice acting of characters are on spot. Very immersive experience.
It's must play title for people who like good storytelling and love cyberpunk theme.
After some patching, the game will be one flawless gem. But everything depends on players expectation.
If I forgive technical flaws (thera are many... be aware), it's 10/10 for me.
Im certainly glad and enjoying to be playing it on my pc (dont have consoles, never did).
I'm getting minor glitches with the T-poses and then some but none major enough to break the game or my want to play it...all this said, i'd like to know what on pc is called old gen now?...i have a pc that's 2 years old manufacturing wise but i'm presuming the graphics might have been upgraded by the company or the middle man (seller or something) coz i have a 1660Ti and while i cant use ray tracing coz of that i dont thing i need it with the fact that this is one of the few games where i can crank it up to ultra settings and have no fps drops or other performance issues what so ever (so far, touch-wood, actually...). if it's the machine, that's not the dev's/game's fault at all, proveded they dont give any old gen pc a way to access at all, which ain't true...
As for console players, while not have any experience with 'em (apart from wanting to bust my nephew's tv by throwing his controller at it while trying to play a ps game without it being on mouse and keyboard), I still stand with them in solidarity that if the game is purely unplayable, its an insultious shame at the players expense by a much beloved company who none of us would be expecting from and that should be unacceptable but also, we do need to give them another chance coz they still (just yet!...) havent turned to the dark side and become yet another EA- "it's in the gambling and surprise mechanics" or Bathesda- "it's in the bugs and free mods and outright begging for more money..."
Btw, missing some much needed pc controls that i loved in witcher series (and outside of witcher series too..)...one being a way tyo walk and another being a way to have V or the vahicle on auto-movement.
Peace, and hopefully all y'all can join me in having as much fun as i am with cp2077 :)
They are definitely having a rough start with this game, I've had much less issues than I've read because of my over kill on PC hardware. The game runs mostly stable, looks great and is very enjoyable to play. There is a fantastic game here that just needs some polish. It is unfortunate they are doing the polish after release but this has got more common with developers these days.
The story and choice in the game is fantasic. The choice happens all over the place and often so I feel lots of replay value in the game. The variety in places and things to do, choices in how you can win and finish missions. I've enjoyed all of it and will definitely be playing the game through with other types of characters.
I give it 4 stars cause it defintely hasa room for imporvement. The AI in the game is pretty bad. The variety of models of the people you see on the streets means you see like the same 8 peolple walking everywhere. Plenty of weird graphical glitches with the RTX lighting though looks amazing most of the time, and randomly T posing.
None of that has hindered me from having a fantastic time, creating a completely uinque character that I really enjoy playing. Can't wait for them to make improvements to the game and the DLC coming later.
