Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
Bad gunplay.
Barely a RPG.
Forgettable characters.
Unreactive and most uninteractive world.
No 3rd person, so all your customization is pointless outside of the inventory screen.
It's not punk.
And that's all the stuff that's working.
While there *is* some stuff that could be better, I'm going to focus here on the positives so many reviews pass over. First, let go of the hype and disappointment. You're looking at all the bad, when there's some nice things to enjoy here.
- It would've been great if the game let you buy ALL the vehicles, but even though it doesn't, there *is* a console command for unlocking them permanently in the Summon Vehicle menu.
- CP 2077 stands out as a great alternative to GTA V's sandbox online if you don't like being monetized to death by R*. You can still run around and shoot people in the face til it stops being funny - and there's even more ways to do it, thanks to all kinds of Quickhacks. Plus, the game has PLENTY of hostile NPCs the cops don't care about.
I basically look at CP 2077 as a semi-sandbox with some RPG elements and a lot of fun toys to play with in it: customizable weapons, Quickhacks, craftables, lots of vehicles (and you can spawn them too!), and build options galore. If you go into it expecting it to be like a sandbox cross between Fallout and GTA, you'll enjoy it quite a bit, I think.
Returning to Cyberpunk 2077 in 2022 after Edgerunners is awesome. Although it still feels short, the added updates and fixes make replaying this game so much better. Love the new builds/cyberware that I can play with.
I love this game. I have been playing it constantly and already know I want to play through again the story. I know it had a bad beginning and I did not buy in the beginning even though I have been looking forward to it but now that I have it now I love it I also love all the patches that add stuff to the game and I still have not finished my first play through and I have to have over 100 hours. The city is so pretty and full of life and from seeing intial reviews has come a tremendous way. This is the game I believe they wanted it to be and I see the care that is there now. I can only recommend this game on PC as I have not seen the other versions but like the witcher it draws you in. I hope we keep getting content!
Got this game ages back (I think it was on sale at the time) and never really got round to playing it until recently. I had difficulties at first, experienced a fair amount of crashes and other issues here and there. But, after a little help from various posts online, I managed to fix most of my problems and was able to finish the game at last. Overall, I love it, it's a great game with a good plot, great characters and a nice soundtrack. Sure, there are a handful of bugs and the game needs a bit more polish but overall it was very enjoyable. If you look past the little issues here and there which really didn't affect me much at all, it's a great game and I look forward to replaying and exploring more of it in depth.
