As a huge fan of the Witcher series, I think CDPR have made another amazing world with interesting characters and laods of things to do outside of the main storyline. I haven't finished the story yet so I can't comment on the plot. The main problems are the bugs in the AI and physics and the performance. My GTX 1060 is a bit old but I was hoping I could at least run the game on low settings smoothly, but encounter frame-rate drops fairly often. I can still fully recommend this game if you don't mind the bugs and have a mid/high-end PC.
P.S. I haven't had a single crash yet.
I can bare with the bugs for now. So lets talk about the Cosmetics and Fashions.
The whole game is cyberpunk, but not PC wearable.
1. You can only get some normal clothing, such as tank tops, Trousers, Trousers and Trousers, bulletproof vest, chemical protective suit and military helmets????
2. Where are those fancy ones on all the NPCs walking past you, outer wear with feathers, some transparent jackets/dresses, dresses/shorts with leggings, thigh high heels and so on? Those are even on the shop display, but you can never buy any of them.
3. Why so many long sleeve jackets when you have mantis blades on your arms??
4. All those shiny skins, implant lines on the skins, glowing eyes and shiny metal body parts, etc, why can't I have any of those.
5. Everyone in NightCity is changing/modifying from head to toes, but PC can't even change a single hairstyle.
6. The only clothing I have found with leggings is a broken mesh, the leggings are behind my actual legs which makes me look like I have 4 legs. (at least fix this in the next update?
7. Don't talk about the implants, you can't see any of those from the looks of your character.
8. All these things just makes me feel like the PC is a 2020 character just wake up from cryosleep in 2077.
Come on, CDPR, give me Cyberpunk Fashions, 2077 Fashions, Not some normal clothing from 2020.
Game is perfect! It is just as I've imagined run smoothly on RTX2070 without issues. No CTD so it is nice. Storylane and sotrytelling is amaizing , deep and entertaining . I do not know why people complain about it ??!!! Music is nice and giving nice fealing to the atmospere of the game. I still haven't finish game im around 20% but I take time to explore this wonderfull city ;) It's always somthing to do or just walk around and pet the cat xD Want one in my apartment! Till now there are minor bugs here and there but not game braking. Game should be played with Ray Tracing and it's look wonderful.
TLDR (8/10)
I'm about 50h into the game and I like CP77. A lot. Strong points being the story and the progression system for me. On high end hardware there are countless glitches and the UI, AI and controls shows their limitations the more you use them
Story (10/10):
I'm engrossed by the story of CP77. There is a main story, side stories related to side characters, and side stories apparently unrelated to the main story. All of it received a lot of care and it shows. The characters are deep and nuanced, acting and animations (when not bugged) are top notch and I really care (love/hate) many of them, making me wanting to follow their questlines.
Conversation System (9/10):
I find CP77 conversation system refreshing. You get a phone call when near a west mark giving you the details, instead of reading it through the cluttered quest menu. You go near a character and its conversation starts automatically, leaving you the option to leave and roam around. It's a great system when not bugged (I'm looking at you, Delamain!)
Progression System (10/10):
CDPR absolutely NAILED the progression system. Layers upon layers of progression letting you find and delve into the playstyle you like, be it netrunning, run and gun, stealth. I dabbled in several syle and settled into an INT/TECH build to netrun from a distance and snipes from behind walls this playthrogh. A friend delved into COOL/REFLEX build and uses blades up and close
Lifepath (6/10):
Overall makes little impact...
Loot (6/10):
The loot system is hit or miss. Weapon types and damage tyeps are good, but generation feels fully level based RNG
Controls (5/10):
On mouse and keyboard you can't rebind action 'F' key and dodge key. MUST FIX.
Cosmetics (4/10):
"It doesn't matter what you do as long as you look cool doing it" and yet if you minmax your character looks like a clown. There should be item skins separated from items themselves
AI (3/10):
Most of the AI is just not there. CDPR knows this and will add it.
This game is actually great. I play on
AMD Ryzen 5 3600
AMD RX 5600-XT
16 gigs of ram
and the game performs beatiful. 52 - 55 fps everything on high settings with a tweak I found on reddit.
V is an amazing protagonist, she is very likable and the way she interacts with the environment and other npc`s is actually amazing. I like her relationship with Johny.
Yesterday I went for a ride with a bike on the highway. The experience was amazing. Good radio music, chill ride.
Gun play is good, guns have a very good feeling to them. You can modify them too, but the choice is not too big.
The enemy AI is somewhat good, yeah when you point a gun at someone on the steet, they all react the same way, but I hope this will change, for now though I dont even care about this. I dont usually point guns at people's faces.
Cops spawn everywhere? Who cares? I avoid messing up the AI anyway. Ofcourse you are going to find a bug here and there if you mess with the AI....
Its true there are some visual glitches, but with a massive game like that this was unavoidable. I am sure they will get patched.
People expected too much of the game, because of the hype, so this is what happened here. I actually kept my excitment to a minimum and I am pleasantly surpriced with the game.
OH AND BTW THE MIRROR IS ACTUALLY AMAZING! My V is a super hot chick, its a pleasure to look at her in the mirror.
