Masterpiece

It took time, it took a long time, but this game is finally where it was always supposed to be and i can't recommend it enough. The world of Cyberpunk is gorgeous. The city is vast and breeming with life and wonders all throughout. The graphical beauty you can enjoy if you have an Nvidia 4000 series graphics card is absolutely breathtaking, I don't often do so but i catch myself stoping and just looking around to take in the wonder that is Night City and even more so the DLC that is Dogtown. The missions are written fgantastically, the story is absolutely top notch (though the main being short), but even the side missions are full of character and EASILY fun enough to keep you entertained during or after the amin quest is over. I don't know what else i can say about this game, I too was quite disappointed when it came out as Witcher 3 was my favorite game of all time; but this game in the state it is in now is just perfection and where it was always meant to be. I see the vision they had now. I'll admit i'm so so sad knowing that, for now, our adventures in Night City are at a close since there is no more content being added to this game, but I can sit back when those credits roll and be absolutely astonished and so content with what i experienced when it "ends" now. CDPR knows how to make a piece of art. I hope from now on the uppers will allow the time to bake as needed so we can experience this astonishing quality in all of their games from release onwards.

Fun actiony game

I hadn't played before, so playing with 2.0 and Phantom Liberty is my first run at it. I've not made it far enough to be into PL yet, but I've played quite a bit and am having a lot of fun. The game plays like what I would have expected from the game, so never dealt with missing features of the past. The game looks pretty, and performance is generally OK. I built a new computer earlier this year, but didn't have tons of money so using a $600 at-the-time graphics card (6800XT); the 4080s and such were out of my price range but I'm sure they perform much better. Anyway, quests, loot, skills, some spy-like missions, a bit of stealth, a good amount of action, and some NPCs that end up being creepy due to their skills and movements. I'm enjoying the ride.

Amazing futuristic RPG

I bought the game on release. Played through the first act and a portion of the second. Sort of lost steam though that isn't abnormal for me and RPGs. Came back in late 2022 and did a complete playthrough. Really came to love the game, the stories the settings and the people. There are a lot of really good stories, missions, gigs and just fun stuff to do. I do with the main storyline was a bit longer, but their decision of a time sensitive matter really shoehorned them, but still it is a good story. With 2.x coming out and Phantom Liberty, I just had to do another playthrough. I rushed the base game as I had recently played it and delved into Phantom Liberty after maybe 20-30 hours. I really liked all the 2.x changes they made and I truly think it brought the game to where everyone thought it should have been on release. The expansion added a cool story and host of characters. It isn't overly long but still I found it well worth he purchase price. Finished my playthrough at about 70 hours. i had a fair number of gigs and side missions to do but they were mostly things I had done before.

So good, and yet it doesn't feel good

Finishing TW3 made me nostalgic but gave me a sense of accomplishment, Cyberpunk made me feel empty. First the good: coming from TW3 I have to say that the game design is superior. There are several nice touches here and there that make the world breathe, help immersion and increase play time. Prime example being the NCPD mini quests. Nothing fancy but well integrated. There is A LOT to do and you can do it any way you want. Combat is solid, I dare say better than some shooters, and I've played a few. Controls never disappoint. The may story line can be finished in not-so-many hours. It's important to know if you are like me, that is, the main quest pretty much wraps the game for you. It's also true that just before beginning the last piece of the quest you get a FAT warning. Still, the urgency you get from all NPCs is fake. Phantom Liberty has a THICK main story line but doesn't add much to the open world, at least compared to the game (I played 2.1 and onward, YMMV). I did appreciate the story-heavy design of PL. SPOILERS BEGIN HERE 5 minutes into the game you smell shit. Soon enough you are drowning in it. It's a grim setting, it's NOT supposed to be easy BUT if you play Silverhand 2.0 (egotistic, violent) you have a few options for a fairly good ending. If you play a person with feelings all you get is a chance to self sacrifice at the last second when you know that NOTHING will save you. PL adds to the doom and gloom: either you betray a terminally ill person (and client) in cold blood (the ending is a slap in the face robbing you of almost everything that may mean something) OR kill a stubborn but good man that actually cares. At least with the "secret" ending I avoided casualties among friends but during the credits I still got all the heartbreaking messages from people desperate to hear from me. Also Rogue kicking Johnny out of NC because why not. Not allowing a way to merge the personalities after YOU alone merge 20 versions of Delamain borders insult.
