Amazing graphics, story, gunplay, and immersion; but has so many minor annoyance glitches that it can really take you out of the immersive experience. Maybe next year when its patched to heck and back ill give it 5 stars
I'm loving it so far, noting gamebreaking yet. Wont give it five stars until they fix their shit, but I could very well see this becoming my favorite game of all time, depending what the rest has to offer
Not the easiest game to play, even on normal mode. The progression feels slow, even when dealing with major plot points. It's hard to tell when one quest has ended or not, and a new one can be dealt with. The enimies are insane bullet sponges. There is almost never a way to talk to enimies before engaging with them. It's not even clear why a massive gunfight is taking place, while I'm just walking down street. Just assume, everyone wants to kill you. The cars handle so terribly, they are almost unusable. There's no autodrive system.
This game needs a lot of work to fix the bugs, and improve the overall UI. It will take time, but, I remeber the witcher 3 getting a lot better after release. So hopefully support is all over this title.
Cyberpunk 2077 is an immersive, open-world game with an incredible amount of interlinked missions, stories and characters. I'm absolutely loving the game. Many others are having a poor time with the game, but I just have not experienced their frustrations after more than 60 hours of game time. I'd like to address a few points that some have made.
1. Keybinds are remappable. You can change them. Some are poor choices (pushing a movement key twice will dodge, which can be annoying since there is no walk key by default).
2. Hacking is not clunky. I've seen this mentioned a few times, to me it is an elegant system. You can bring up the hacking menu at any point during the game, in combat or not. Point at a person or electronic item and you'll be presented with options based on the software you have installed. You can then trigger one of them like distracting an enemy with a TV or causing an enemy to pull out a grenade and detonate it.
3. The starting lifepaths could really use more work. They are short and all three quickly lead to the same chain of events. The good thing is the dialogue options you see throughout the rest of the game related to the lifepaths give much needed variety.
4. Characters feel real to me. When I meet a new character I quickly get a sense for what drives them, and as you interact with them more and more you learn deeper secrets about their past and their motivations. I have yet to find a mission where I was lost at the motivation of a character.
5. Gameplay is not the strong suit of this game. The guns feel okay, there are a wide assortment of them, and I think this is really down to personal preference. I really enjoy using swords with my current character. The combat needs some polish, but it is very enjoyable for me, especially darting around a battlefield hacking, choosing targets to attack with melee, etc.
Highly recommended for the story and immersion, if you have a good PC otherwise wait. I look forward to future fixes and new content.
(This is what I've been able to check, because the game continuously crashes a few minutes in. It took me three tries to get through character creation, to begin with). The game starts, you walk around a corner: crash. You talk to your boss and sit in a chair: crash. You follow your boss and talk to him: crash.
In between the crashes the world looks pretty -- the artists really did a great job on that. The keyboard/mouse combinations are clunky. Why do I need to press space to continue? I'm not on a console. Just continue. The mouse controls are ... weird. No acceleration, I guess. It feels pretty off.
This is the first time I've ever bought something on GoG. Because I thought it would be nice for CDPR to get the full amount instead of losing some to Steam. Well, they got my money, and I got a pile of software that doesn't really work for me. I won't refund because I hope they actually will fix it. If they don't I'm not going to bother with CDPR again.
For the record; my machine is above the recommended specs, I've updated bios, windows, mobodrivers and videodrivers to the latest. It has ample room on a dedicated SSD and it still doesn't work. Hopefully it will be fixed but I am quite disappointed with their latest game.
