Pros: optimization (1080-fps), sound and localization, storyline and setting (excellent), 18+ (this is a plus), a huge city to explore, character customization, secondary quests and events (many options), excellent visual style of the game world ( I am amazed).
Cons: bugs, minor bugs, animation interferences, balance of enemies, AI enemies, strange map (especially colors), stealth mechanics are not finished yet.
Bottom line: the game is cool, for me the game of the year is 2020. For some time it will be brought to full 100% readiness (and it will be finished, this is CDPR). The game met all my expectations. Good luck and good game.
One of the best game stories I've played, there are still many bugs to be fixed, but still, the game is amazing with tons of things to do and places to go.
Hope players stop complaining so much as creating a game of this extent with all these consoles available is unimaginably hard.
Running it on a laptop with GTX 1060, I faced quite a few bugs(namely my character's hair disappearing all the time), but nothing game breaking.
Otherwise, Night City is amazing to go around in and discover. Driving and AI can be impoved, sure, but how many RPGs have offered these mechanics before. I am certain that with time these issues will be ironed out.
Technical difficulties aside, there is a very potent game in here, with an amazing story and amazing performance and production. The options may not be as impactful as in other RPGs, but they are still do change things, especially the endings. The side quests are still top notch despite not reaching Withcer 3's heights, but they offer their own substory in the world.
If you wanna wait for the bugs to be squashed, that is fine, but I feel many people are being harsh on what is yet another landmark in gaming.
I mean, fuck this game is fun. Worldbuilding is absolutely insane, the story drags you in and makes you want to know more and the gameplay is hooking to the point, where I find myself back to being a NEET again after thinking I've fixed my life.
Now just to say one thing: Bugs and glitches do exist. But they are not game-breaking in any way, it's rare occurences of T-Poses, clipping of figures, maybe not being able to loot a drone or a robot. But all in all, it's nothing that I consider mentionworthy, because those might not exist in a month or two.
And the thing is: If a game is able to pull me in, keep me playing and show me all those little details around the world, all the hard work converted into story and characters and worldbuilding to the point where I don't want to stop, I am gladly going to look past a few smaller issues. The experience is absolutely incredible and it deserves the 5-Star rating.
It's got it all baby, Sex, Guns, Cars, Hot Chicks, n a whole lotta BLASTIN.
I'm very happy running this on an i7-10700, 16gb, 2080super 8gb at 1080, all settings at max, but with chromatic aberation, film grain, and motion blur off. At first the graphics seemed soft, but after making those adjustments things look crisp and beautiful. Night City seems big and intersesting and there are good and bad parts of the city where the destitue and wealthy live.
The story has been great, and easy to take a break from the main story-line to do some gigs or side quests. I started as a streetkid, thinking to only be a grunt with a gun but that quickly morphed into making a netrunner build, which is something I would not have chosen in other games. It allows me to take a stealthier approach and be able to go guns blazing if (in my case, when) things go wrong. Character progression is interesting, based on main stats, and the skill categories within each stat.
For the first 30 hours of play, I wouldn't bother driving, just walk and find quick transport depots, but I recently bought a motorcycle and have been whizzing around the city.
Controls take a little getting used to, and I've found that setting keys to my mouse does help with that a lot. Menus are easy to navigate once you used it a few times. Looking from an equipment slot filters items for that place and you can drop, break-down, or equip right there. If there is a total carried weight display, I haven't noticed it yet and you will get notified when you are over-encumbered. But, you're able to carry a decent amount before that happens, without needing to put points into that attribute.
The one thing that impresses me is that when I'm not playing the game, I'm thinking about it, which I haven't been able to say about any game I've played in years. The Cyberpunk setting is what drew me to the game, and I've really been enjoying it.
