I had pretty high expectations and the game pretty much exceeded them.
- the story is good and the characters are amazing
- most quests can be finished with either stealth or guns blazing, both work great
- lots and lots of great side quests, I already have 60 hours in this game and only played through half of the main story
- all of the bugs that I encountered were either some objects stuck in the air or UI elements stuck on the screen, nothing gamebreaking so far
- life paths don't change the whole game experience, but I had a lot of streetkid dialogue lines, that changed side quest endings
- driving is good if you're not driving a shitty car
Owerall, it's really the experience I was waiting for.
This game is legendary.
The developers have put a lot of effort into the details and the main and side quests are wonderfully designed.
The game fills out all the qualities of The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt and can easily rank ahead of it.
The few bugs can not affect the impression of such a wonderful game.Besides, bugs are rare and CDPR will surely fix them.
The game runs very well on my old system:
-AMD Ryzen 5 3600
-RX 580 Series
-16GB DDR4
I think that if 9 million people pre-ordered the game, then cdr felt rushed to give them the product, they worked hard, my experiences with the game had no real issues, altho it does seem unfinished and not fully polished, i think they worked very hard on it and did pretty good, i think it is sad that i hear about so much outrage, that much of the complaints could have been remedied with patience,,, just let them finish making it, i am also very sorry to the people with technical problems that really ruin their play experience. If 9 million people payed money for preorders, then got an unfinished product, i can understand why some would complain, but i am guessing that patience will solve their issues.
Honestly, almost 90 hours in, I love this game. It's true, there are a lot of technical bugs, and the game is really demanding in terms of compute power. But I'm playing on a system with a Core i5 and an 980Ti and I can still squeeze 30 fps at 1080p out of it with a great level of details and honestly... that's ok. Hitting 60 fps would be better? Of course, but I'm enjoying the game no less. I had a chance to play the game on a Radeon 6800XT for a couple of weeks in 4K and it was just mind blowing.
Now, what I don't get is all this "it's not a real RPG" whining. Have you even played the game a significant amount of time and understood what is going on? A lot of side quests do have multiple choices and different outcomes. Hell, I was skipping the all Panam/Nomads storyline initially because of a "wrong" choice I made. You can develop your relationship with Johnny as you please to an extent and, even if there is no karma/moral system that will affect how the world of cyberpunk reacts to V's. actions, that's just fine in this game. This is no Fallout. But you'll find a trope of cyberpunk culture easter eggs and If you ever wanted to immerse yourself in a world straight from the Gibson's sprawl trilogy, this is the game for you.
The main story and the main side quests are interesting and well written. The characters are fantastic. The gigs and minor jobs are challenging and full of easter eggs and little details. Night City it's just beautiful and rich, every alley is a microcosmos in its own. The weapons are great. The hacking system is much more simpler than initially showed, and that's ok, still I hoped for more hacks variety.
The only real complaints I have are the subpar enemies' AI and the fact that too few buildings are explorable. Really, all those megabuildings... just closed down. On the really annoying side, I put the vehicles system: driving in Cyberpunk is really really a mess.
In the end, I'm having a lot of fun and that's all that matters for me.
