See the title, people are exaggerating about the problems on PC. Last gen consoles, sure, they run like trash. But I've had 60 hours so far and it's my favorite game from 2020. Check it out yourself!
Utterly utterly mind blowing attention to detail that went into building the world and art direction.
I never thought something like that would be possible. The city and its architecture, the difference in boroughs, the atmosphere of night and day, the logic of the architecture and the placement and look of every one of the bazillions objects - its feels so realistic (yes i know its a sci-fi). What people are doing, where, how and how many feels just so natural, its incredible. Nothing from open world comes close to this and I predict it will take a very long time anything will.
I love how any street feels different in the night and middle of the day. You can feel the emptiness of 2 AM street and its a different emptiness of a closed market in the the middle of the city and on the industrial part etc.
The rest ranges from good to great. Graphics are amazing, bugs on pc are few, I have an older PC and had one crash while clocking 120+ hours so far and running it on ultra without ray tracing ofc. A few glitches, controls are ok, side quests great, way too many filler stuff on the map, and mediocre inventory management with lacking options. Basicall your cyberpunk version of witcher 3, with all the good and the not so good stuff.
What separates this game from the rest of the pack by miles is the world and the art direction and we should really praise the devs for this because that is an absolutely unique achievement.
I did not buy into the hype leading up to this game's release. I expected the terrible game everyone makes it out to be. But one thing I've learned over the years is the sheep are always wrong, so the more sheep I read 'bahh'-ing about how bad Cyberpunk 2077, the more curious I became.
It has bugs. But I've never played a game that didn't. Maybe these bugs are slightly more numerous in Cyberpunk, but not as bad as people make them out to be. They have not broken my immersion in the city or the story, or deterred my desire to continue to progress in the game.
The combat feels great. Driving physics and controls are fine. I would agree with some comments about the key mapping being funky, particularly crouch and skip being the same button.
I thought I would hate the city and the story and Keanu Reeves, but it's actually really good once you settle into a life choice that fits your personality. Been an emotional roller coaster that keeps me invested and coming back, with plenty of engaging side missions as well. Many hours of content to enjoy, probably 50-100 hours, which is what you want from these RPGs.
I like the variety of weapons, upgrades, buffs, and the player upgrade system. Leaves lots of room for different styles of play and customization. Though I do find the process of equipping them, etc. (The UI, I guess) to be a bit clunky to work with.
I found disappointing the fact I never feel any real sense of choice. Many conversations boil down to one correct choice. I don't feel like I have as much control over pissing off or coercing NPCs through dialogue--like my 'V' is uniquely me. I am a fixed character 'V' with a fixed attitude and a fixed destiny. Thankfully, the character is dynamic enough to overlook this shallowness of choice.
Overall I am enjoying my time in Night City, and happy with my purchase. Patches are incoming and I have faith CD Projekt Red will tie up the loose ends.
